Nov 2022 BTO: Queensway Canopy Fengshui Unit Review
Source: HDB
In HDB’s November 2022 Build-To-Order (BTO) exercise, Queensway Canopy is the only development to be launched in a mature estate in Singapore. Located within the Health District @ Queenstown, this upcoming BTO estate will be developed with integrated solutions that aims to enhance the health and well-being of residents across different life stages.
In this article, we shall take an in-depth fengshui review to assess the fengshui qualities of Queensway Canopy and see what it has to offer beyond its location and accessibility to various facilities and amenities in the mature town. Read on!
Queensway Canopy: Landform fengshui
Bounded by Queensway, Queen’s Crescent, and the Rail Corridor, Queensway Canopy is located in the mature Queenstown precinct.
From a fengshui viewpoint, this new BTO development sits on the Western Dragon and falls under the fengshui formation of the “Land of White Horse”, characterised by enthusiasm and loyalty.
Long-time residents of the horse land shall benefit from its positive energies and attain success on their career front. However, one should not overlook the horse’s shortcomings such as being over-ambitious and lacking determination. The latter could result in failures and cause one to lose fighting spirit.
The energetic nature of the horse makes Queenstown an ideal place for business start-ups while those who wish to hold on to existing businesses may find it challenging.
Internal fengshui considerations
When it comes to choosing an ideal unit, keep in mind that the main orientation of a house will directly influence the overall luck of its residents. The house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.
Queensway Canopy offers 5 residential blocks with staggered heights, from 6 to 40 storeys, orientated to maximise the views from their units. There are 996 units in total with a choice of Community Care Apartments, 3-, and 4-room flats.
Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in the upcoming Periods 9 and 1 (years 2024 – 2063), and Northwest and Southeast are the second most auspicious directions. Several BTO units at Queensway Canopy face these favourable directions. Aspiring homeowners planning to get a BTO unit here are advised to select a unit wisely. Here’s what we recommend:
North facing units
Blk 204A – 144
Blk 205A – 162, 164
South facing units
Blk 204A – 150, 152
Blk 205A – 170
Northwest-facing units
Blk 205A – 178, 180
Blk 205B – 186, 188
Southeast-facing units
Blk 203A – 100, 102, 104, 106, 108, 110
Blk 205A – 172, 174, 176
Blk 205B – 182, 184
It is important to note that there is no fixed lucky direction that caters to everyone. If necessary, you can seek advice from a professional fengshui practitioner to help you create a harmonious environment in your new home.
Exterior fengshui considerations

As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a new home. It is always worthwhile to do a physical site visit prior to your property purchase.
Queensway Canopy is conveniently located near various facilities and amenities in the mature estate, including shopping malls, market and food centres, schools and a hospital.
Nevertheless, the convenience of a mature estate is often offset by crowded housing options with higher chances of encountering conflict points (sharp edges pointed towards your potential home) from surrounding buildings or structures that are not ideal for fengshui.
In the case of Queensway Canopy, those who are choosing from the outer stack along Queensway road will face a reserved site for future high rise residential development. This indicates potential conflict points, as well as pollution and negative energies (Sha Qi) during the construction period.
As for the outer stacks facing Queen’s Crescent road, some may wonder about its proximity to Alexandra hospital. Well, hospitals are Yin in nature and the knowledge of staying in close proximity to a hospital may cause unease to some people, possibly leading them to experience physical and mental fatigue.
Let’s also consider a practical point, which is the fact that hospitals operate around the clock. Stacks that face or overlook the hospital may encounter Sound Sha [声煞] and Light Sha [光煞]. Nevertheless, there is another earlier BTO estate – Queen’s Arc that sits between Queensway Canopy and the hospital. If you still feel uneasy, you may want to consider the inner stacks instead.
There are two multi-storey car parks at Queensway Canopy that are 5/6 storeys tall. Those who are choosing units nearby may want to take note of this, in case of Sound Sha [声煞] and Light Sha [光煞]. If you are opting for a lower-storey unit, consider installing a window blind.
Did you know?
Mirrors are favoured by homeowners in space-constrained Singapore, but did you know that there are certain fengshui taboos regarding how you position your mirror?
Before you start installing mirrors in your bedroom to provide the illusion of bigger space, you should know that some masters believe that mirrors are portals for energy to enter and exit. Hence, we should be more mindful of how we display mirrors,
Mirrors should be out of sight from where you’re sleeping. Master Mark Tan explains that this fengshui tip for mirrors in the bedroom helps to prevent friction between couples, as conflicts can occur with the presence of mirrors. As such, you should also avoid having too many mirrors in your bedroom, as it can disrupt harmony and happiness.
Which fengshui BTO units to choose in Queensway Canopy?
Despite its distance from the nearest MRT station (15 minutes walk to Queenstown MRT station) and being surrounded by high rise residential developments, Queensway Canopy sits on an auspicious land and provides several fengshui choice units for potential homeowners.
Are you ready to select a unit that is auspicious in the reigning luck cycle and suitable for your bazi? Selecting a fengshui unit can also help you to create a harmonious home, improve mood and energy, and attract opportunities and benefactors.
So, wait no further! Our masters will evaluate your units based on a four-point method, analysing the luck cycle, direction, Bazi suitability and missing sector to make your fengshui selection unit a breeze. Learn more here.
