Landform Fengshui: Alexandra Peaks in Bukit Merah

In Singapore, the Five Dragon Landform Fengshui harnesses “hidden dragons”, which are man-made structures that channel energy flows. From the lens of fengshui, roads act as “dragon veins,” skyscrapers as “mountain dragons” offering stability, and waterways serve as wealth-attracting “water dragons.”

The five auspicious dragons, namely Eastern, Western, Southern, Northern, and Central, along with the Singapore and Kallang Rivers, converge to drive the city’s growth and prosperity, with each dragon influencing a region’s success.

Bounded by Alexandra Road and Prince Charles Crescent, Alexandra Peaks is located in the precinct of Bukit Merah and sits near the head of the Western Dragon

Did you know? Living near a Dragon head can be beneficial for career breakthroughs or visionary pursuits, as fresh qi tends to be concentrated around the area. However, energy can be intense. Hence, such areas are best suited for those with resilient or ambitious personalities.

Fengshui Formation: Alexandra Peaks in Bukit Merah

Based on landform formation, Alexandra Peaks is part of the “Land of Buffaloes” formation, housing two buffaloes that have fled from Tiong Bahru due to the nearby formation “Combination of Four Animals”. One is located at Telok Blangah Hill Park and the other at Bukit Merah Central.

Buffaloes are known for their diligence and this quality is reflected in the residents staying in these areas. In the face of pressure, they would perform better and display strong determination.

Times are tough in recent years, but strive on! Regardless of whether you are a bachelor or the head of a bustling household, here are some tips for male homeowners to boost your career and wealth luck!

Exterior fengshui considerations

As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a new home.

In Singapore, waterfront living is popular amongst homeowners. With Alexandra Peaks located along Alexandra Canal, residents can look forward to scenic views and easy access to recreational activities such as cycling, jogging, and leisure walks along the waterfront. Beyond the tranquility and beauty, does having a water view from your home constitute good fengshui?

That’s debatable.

In general, landscape fengshui deems a household auspicious and blessed with prosperity if flowing water can be viewed from your living room. That’s especially so when there’s a large door or window that enables an inflow of energy from the river/ocean across your home.

However, the direction of one’s home orientation as well as the water flows matters! If either direction is less than ideal, waterfront living may have negative effects. At Alexandra Peaks, most units overlooking Alexandra Canal are facing the most auspicious direction of Period 9, which is great news for would-be residents.

A prime location often implies greater human traffic and noises, which is ideal for those who prefer a more vibrant environment. However,  do note that a cross-junction lies to the West of this new residential development. Such cross-junction roads are potential landform obstructions that could bring Sha Qi

In general, one will not be affected if your home is located on a higher floor. Also, the greenscaping and precinct pavilion acts as a buffer for lower floor units at stack 106, so aspiring homeowners need not worry about the cross junction at Alexandra Road and Prince Charles Crescent.

Do take note that stacks along Alexandra Road face high-rise condominiums and the ASPN Tanglin School. This means greater noises and heavier traffic during peak hours. For those who prefer a more conducive space, consider installing sound-proof windows or curtains and blinds to keep out disturbances.

Last but not least, as Bukit Merah is undergoing redevelopment, potential homeowners of Alexandra Peaks should be mindful of nearby ongoing and future developments. This indicates potential conflict points, as well as pollution and negative energies (Sha Qi) during the construction period. If required, always consult a professional fengshui practitioner to keep your home fengshui optimised at all periods.

Internal fengshui considerations

When it comes to choosing an ideal unit, keep in mind that the main orientation of a house will directly influence the overall luck of its residents. The house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can typically be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.

Alexandra Peaks, launched in the July 2025 BTO sales exercise, comprises two residential blocks of blocks of 38 and 46 storeys, with a total of 498 3-room and 4-room flats. These new Prime flats are offered in addition to the neighbouring Blocks 139 to 141(Dec 2023 BTO launch) within the same estate.

Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in the Period 9 and 1 (years 2024 – 2063), and Northwest and Southeast are the second most auspicious directions. It is recommended to choose a unit that faces either of these directions or lies at the border of these directions to tap on the positive energies.

We have categorised the units at Alexandra Peaks under the Period 9 Auspicious Home Ranking chart, as listed below.

There is no fixed lucky direction that caters to everyone. If in doubt, you may like to leave it to the professionals. Way Fengshui provides end-to-end fengshui services from selecting an ideal unit to helping you create a harmonious environment in your new home.

While most units at Alexandra Peaks face auspicious directions of the current fengshui period, some units lie on the boundary between two directions (indicated with the warning sign), which requires further analysis. If your intended unit falls into this category, you may want to consider a professional fengshui consultation for guidance.

This is especially if the direction falls within the less favourable spectrum such as, i.e. East, West, Northeast, or Southwest.

Did you know?

Events and happenings within a space create energy vibrations that can either be positive or negative. These are not limited to indoor spaces, but could also be infused into the estate that you plan to live in. Hence, it makes sense to understand the history of your to-be neighbourhood, especially recent happenings that could leave traces of remnant energies.

Most locals are aware that Bukit Merah means “Red Hill” in English, and the legend from Sejarah Melayu about a hill that turned red due to the blood of a young boy who was killed there. However, did you know that Bukit Merah was once occupied by pepper and gambier plantations before urban developments?

In 1960, HDB began developing public housing in Bukit Merah to address the housing shortage and also to house those affected by the Bukit Ho Swee fire in 1961. Today, this well-loved Prime district is part of the Remaking Our Heartland (ROH) Programme to rejuvenate the neighbourhood, and bring city living close to nature.

Do take a walk in the estate prior to selecting your flat. It is important to take note of features of surrounding buildings that may harbour threats of negative influences or hinder ventilation within your home. The main idea is to garner and ensure the smooth flow of positive Qi (energy) within your new home while avoiding Sha Qi (negative energies).

Sha Qi in the environment surrounding your home can manifest into loss of wealth, accidents, and sickness. If there are sharp edges pointed towards your potential home, then it is best to consider another unit or seek advice from a professional fengshui practitioner.

Also, did you know that Period 9 is influenced by a wealth star, indicating growing fortune and propitiousness? If your home faces North or South – the most auspicious directions in this fengshui period, consider seeking a fengshui consultation for your home renovation so you and your household members can better grasp opportunities as well as create wealth.
