Named to reflect harmonious living with its green surroundings, Simei Symphony in Tampines town is envisioned as a garden sanctuary within the neighbourhood. That sounds promising in terms of fengshui, right?

Well, let’s take an in-depth fengshui review on this newly launched BTO project to find out, and determine if the popular Simei Symphony could be your ideal fengshui home. Read on!

Landform Fengshui: Symphony in Tampines

In Singapore, the Five Dragon Landform Fengshui harnesses “hidden dragons”, which are man-made structures that channel energy flows. From the lens of fengshui, roads act as “dragon veins,” skyscrapers as “mountain dragons” offering stability, and waterways serve as wealth-attracting “water dragons.”

The five auspicious dragons, namely Eastern, Western, Southern, Northern, and Central, along with the Singapore and Kallang Rivers, converge to drive the city’s growth and prosperity, with each dragon influencing a region’s success.

Located in Simei Estate within Tampines Town, and bounded by Upper Changi Road East and Simei Road, Simei Symphony sits near the head of the Eastern Dragon.

Located on the former Changkat Changi Primary School and Changkat Changi Secondary School, Simei Symphony sits in the heart of a residential enclave, surrounded by a mix of older condos, landed homes, and HDB flats.

Aspiring homeowners can expect a relatively quiet neighbourhood in spite of its proximity to the Upper Changi MRT station. Exit D of the Downtown Line underground station is right at the BTO project’s doorstep! There will also be an eating house, retail shops, a restaurant, a supermarket, a preschool, and a park within the premises.

Designed as a garden sanctuary, Simei Symphony residents will enjoy a vibrant courtyard with recreational and communal amenities amidst lush greenery. Plants symbolise vitality and growth, which can aid conducive living but they can also introduce unwanted pests into our homes if too close to entrances.

From the fengshui perspective, one should be mindful of the positioning of trees, which can deflect incoming auspicious energies. Those considering lower floor units should stay mindful and keep a lookout for nearby trees and plants. It can be daunting to choose a suitable BTO unit, especially for first-time homeowners. Being in a residential enclave means a quieter neighborhood. However, do note that Simei Symphony is bounded by Upper Changi Road East and Simei Road, which can experience moderate to heavy traffic, especially during peak hours like weekday mornings and evenings. These roads serve as key connectors to Changi Business Park, Expo, and the airport, so congestion tends to build up when commuters and logistics vehicles are on the move.

As such, stacks at Block 169A and 170A that overlook Simei Road may be subject to fengshui conflicting forces (煞气) such as noise pollution (噪音). If you are planning to choose from these stacks, take note of the site reserved for future high-rise residential development directly across the road.

This indicates potential conflict points, as well as pollution and negative energies (Sha Qi) during the construction period. If required, do consult a professional fengshui practitioner to keep your home fengshui optimised at all times.

As we take a closer look, note that there is a T-junction near Block 169B and 170B. From a fengshui perspective, T-junction represents potential Sha energy / poison arrow, where the fast-moving qi may collide with the residential premises, implying severe loss for homeowners in terms of career, health or wealth.

From a practical viewpoint, facing the end of a T-junction means more traffic, which means light pollution (from headlights of oncoming cars at night) and Sound Sha from the traffic. Lower floor units at Stack 530 and 568 facing Jalan Tiga Ratus and Meragi Road are more susceptible to these disturbances, and should take appropriate fengshui measures.

Last but not least, cross-junction roads are also potential landform obstructions that could bring Sha Qi. Some stacks at Block 170A sit near the cross junction between Upper Changi Road East and Simei Road, but the Precinct Pavilion at Block 170 helps to act as a buffer for potential poison arrows from the cross junction, hence residents of these stacks need not worry.

Internal fengshui considerations

When it comes to choosing an ideal unit, keep in mind that the main orientation of a house will directly influence the overall luck of its residents. The house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can typically be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.

Simei Symphony comprises 4 residential blocks with 380 units spread across 2-room Flexi, 4-room, and 5-room flats. Each block is 11 storeys in height.

Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in the Period 9 and 1 (years 2024 – 2063), and Northwest and Southeast are the second most auspicious directions.
