Yishun Beacon, located near Yishun MRT station and bus interchange, is one of the new housing projects launched in HDB’s May 2022 Build-To-Order (BTO) exercise. Although it is said to be in a non-mature estate, it is in fact conveniently located to many amenities.

In this article, we will take an in-depth fengshui review on this upcoming BTO estate to assess its fengshui qualities and see what it has to offer beyond its prime location, eco-friendly features and accessibility to various facilities and amenities. Read on!

Yishun Beacon: Landform fengshui

Bounded by Yishun Central 1 and Yishun Avenue 2, Yishun Beacon lies on the Southern Dragon of Singapore at the fengshui formation of the “Land of Collapsed Plum Blossom”. The flower and stem of the plum blossom, along with the Lower Seletar Reservoir as the backdrop, portray an auspicious feng shui setting, which has benefited many well-known businessmen.

Residents in Yishun have high earning power and know how to enjoy their lives too. This northern district exudes a sense of tranquillity, which makes it a suitable location for self-cultivation.

Internal fengshui considerations

When it comes to choosing an ideal unit, keep in mind that the main orientation of a house will directly influence the overall luck of its residents. The house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.

Yishun Beacon comprises five residential blocks of 646 units in total, with 273 two-room flexi units, 207 four-room units and 166 five-room flats that are 14 storeys in height. Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in the upcoming Periods 9 and 1 (years 2024 – 2063).

Aspiring homeowners who have their sights set on Yishun Beacon will be happy to know that most stacks in this BTO estate are North/South facing. Here’s what we recommend:

North/South facing units

Blk 936A – 100, 102, 104, 106, 108, 110, 118, 120

Blk 936B – 122, 124, 132, 134, 136,138, 140, 142

Blk 936C – 154, 156, 158, 160

Blk 936D – 162, 164, 166, 168, 170, 172, 174, 176, 178, 180, 182

Blk 936E – 184, 186, 188, 190, 192, 194

It is important to note that there is no fixed lucky direction that caters to everyone.

Selecting a suitable flat can be a daunting task, especially if you are a first-time homeowner. When in doubt, you may like to leave it to the professionals. Way Fengshui provides end-to-end fengshui services from selecting an ideal unit to helping you create a harmonious environment in your new home.

Exterior fengshui considerations

As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a new home.

Potential homeseekers should note that Yishun Beacon will be located next to the Yishun Community Hospital. Stacks (138, 140, 156, 158, 164 and 166) located along Yishun Central 2 road face the hospital directly, and are likely to encounter Sound Sha [声煞] and Light Sha [光煞] since hospitals operate around the clock.

As community hospitals differ from general hospitals, residents will not need to worry about emergency sirens that may sound 24/7. Nonetheless, hospitals are Yin in nature, and the knowledge of staying in close proximity to a hospital may cause unease to some people, possibly leading them to experience physical and mental fatigue. Hence, it may be better to select a unit on a higher floor or to reconsider the inner stacks instead.

For those who seek lesser noise disturbances, you may also want to consider higher floor units and avoid the stacks along the main road and MRT line, as well as those near facilities such as the children’s playground and the childcare centre.

Based on the site plan, some of the inner stacks, especially for the 2-room flexi and 4-room units seem to be pretty near to each other. When selecting a unit, you should consider potential sharp edges pointed towards your home, as these are conflict points that are not ideal for fengshui. It is best to avoid such units or if inevitable, consider seeking advice from a professional fengshui practitioner

Did you know?

Events and happenings within a space create energy vibrations that can either be positive or negative. These are not limited to indoor spaces, but could also be infused into the estate that you plan to live in. Hence, it makes sense to understand the history of your to-be neighbourhood, especially recent happenings that could leave traces of remnant energies.

Prior to selecting your house or flat, take a walk in the estate and take note of the features of surrounding buildings that may harbour threats of negative influences or hinder ventilation within your home. The main idea is to garner and ensure the smooth flow of positive Qi (energy) within your new home while avoiding Sha Qi (negative energies).

Sha Qi in the environment surrounding your home can manifest into loss of wealth, accidents, and sickness. If there are sharp edges pointed towards your potential home, then it is best to consider another unit or seek advice from a professional fengshui practitioner.

Some common obstructive landforms include sharp corners of nearby buildings, T-junctions, expressways, train stations, construction sites, etc. as well as buildings (i.e. bridges or subway tracks ) that are built too near to your block and create oppression.
