Ghim Moh Ascent: Landform fengshui

Bounded by Ghim Moh Road, Ghim Moh Close, and the Rail Corridor, Ghim Moh Ascent is located near Buona Vista MRT station. This BTO estate under the PLH model sits on the Western Dragon and belongs to the unique fengshui formation of “Combination of Four Animals”, which spans across Holland Road, Kent Ridge, South Buona Vista Road and Haw Par Villa.

Ghim Moh Ascent sits between the two fengshui land formations at Holland Road and South Buona Vista Road. The landform of Holland Road exhibits traits of an eagle, soaring with its spread wings and creating the “Flying Eagle Diving for Food” formation. Occupants who live in this area are likely to receive aid from many foreign friends when they are in need. This area is also advantageous for those who work in the political or military field.

Nearby, the South Buona Vista Road reflects the formation of “Flying Snake Crossing Mountain”. The snake is being chased by the eagle in Holland Road and it would try to counterattack occasionally. This calls for cautiousness, and residents who stay here should stay prepared and vigilant in the course of pursuing their goals.

Internal fengshui considerations

When it comes to choosing an ideal unit, keep in mind that the main orientation of a house will directly influence the overall luck of its residents. The house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.

Ghim Moh Ascent comprises four residential blocks of 867 units in total, with 196 three-room and 671 four-room units ranging from 8 to 31 storeys. Based on fengshui analysis, North/South is the most auspicious direction in the upcoming Periods 9 and 1 (years 2024 – 2063).

However, the majority of BTO units at Ghim Moh Ascent are not North/South facing. Based on our fengshui analysis, potential homeowners can consider the following North/Northwest or South/Southeast facing stacks, which are still relatively auspicious. Here’s what we recommend:

North/Northwest facing units

Blk 48B – 125, 127, 129, 131

Blk 49A – 133, 135, 137

Blk 49B – 147, 149, 151

South/Southeast facing units

Blk 48A – 113, 115

It is important to note that there is no fixed lucky direction that caters to everyone.

Selecting a suitable flat can be a daunting task, especially if you are a first-time homeowner. When in doubt, you may like to leave it to the professionals. Way Fengshui provides end-to-end fengshui services from selecting an ideal unit to helping you create a harmonious environment in your new home.

Exterior fengshui considerations

As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a new home. In terms of convenience, Ghim Moh Ascent is near to many facilities and amenities in the prime estate.

Amongst the four blocks at Ghim Moh Ascent, potential homeowners will be happy to know that there is a healthy distance between the blocks, which is very good. It is important to take note of sharp edges pointed towards your potential home, as these are conflict points that are not ideal for homeowners. In such cases, it is recommended to consider another unit or seek advice from a professional fengshui practitioner

In case you are wondering, the name ‘Ghim Moh Ascent’ references the development’s location and the staggered height of the blocks that rise up to 31 storeys. Some of the higher floor units (i.e. stacks along the Rail Corridor) will have unblocked views that overlook greenery or landed properties. This is considered ideal in fengshui as there’d be a lesser chance of encountering certain fengshui conflicts.

Cross-junction roads are potential landform obstructions that could bring Sha Qi, but one will not be affected if your home is located on a higher floor. Those choosing Stack 153 and 155 at Block 49B should take note of this.

Lower floor units of stacks that are located near/ directly facing the multi-storey car park (MSCP) may be subject to Sound Sha [声煞] and Light Sha [光煞]. This could cause disturbances to daily life such as insomnia. Hence, those who choose a lower-storey unit that faces the car park (i.e. Stacks 101, 103, 105, 115 and 143) are advised to install a window blind.

Regarding the sites reserved for a future road and high-rise public housing next to Ghim Moh Ascent, residents should pay attention to avoid or take measures to counter construction noises and conflicting energies (冲煞) during the development period. This is especially so for Stack 123, 125, 127, 149, 151 and 153.

Did you know?

Negative forms (sha) in the environment surrounding your home can manifest into loss of wealth, accidents, and sickness. A couple of ‘sha’ to look out for would be sharp corners of buildings that face directly to your main entrance, and buildings (bridges or subway tracks ) that are built too near to your block and create oppression.

While we can’t do much with regards to most of the external environmental factors, there are fengshui remedies to counter or minimise the negative impacts. A professional fengshui practitioner can pinpoint these areas of concern and provide solutions to ensure you and your household members stay safe and harmonious in your new home.

Which fengshui BTO units to choose in Ghim Moh Ascent?
