Featuring a vast green space interspersed with 3Gen facilities, shelters, well-shaded spaces, thematic gardens, as well as Active, Beautiful, Clean Waters design features for rest and rejuvenation, this upcoming BTO estate looks promising. Woodlands South Plains: Landform fengshui
Bounded by Woodlands Avenue 1 and Woodlands Drive 17, Woodlands South Plains sits on the den of the Central Dragon, and belongs to the fengshui land formation of “Golden Coin-storing Bowl”. This indicates favorability for wealth and health.
Residents in this area shall be able to hold a stable and secure job, as well as accumulate wealth. With its strategic location, Woodlands is an auspicious district that can absorb and retain qi, making it an ideal place for resting and recuperation. Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in the upcoming Periods 9 and 1 (years 2024 – 2063), and Northwest and Southeast are the second most auspicious directions.

Exterior fengshui considerations
As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a new home. It is always worthwhile to do a physical site visit prior to your property purchase.
Woodlands South Plains spells convenience with the various facilities and amenities such as schools, parks, malls, places of worship and the upcoming Woodlands Health Campus in its vicinity. Located just across the road from Woodlands South MRT station entrance, it provides accessibility minus the usual train noises since this is an underground station.
However, one should note that Woodlands South Plains faces two secondary schools on different sides of the estates. In addition, there’s a mosque (Masjid Yusof Ishak) in the centre of the BTO estate. As such, potential homeowners must be prepared for noises during active school hours as well as the call to prayer five times a day.
Regarding Woodlands Health Campus, it is an acute and community hospital slated to open progressively from end 2023. As it will be located next to Woodlands South Plains, stacks (198, 200, 202,204,206 and 208) along Woodlands Drive 17 will face the hospital directly, and are likely to encounter Sound Sha [声煞] and Light Sha [光煞] since hospitals operate around the clock.
Also, hospitals are Yin in nature and the knowledge of staying in close proximity to a hospital may cause unease to some people, possibly leading them to experience physical and mental fatigue. Hence, it may be better to select a unit on a higher floor or to reconsider the inner stacks.
For those who seek lesser noise disturbances, you may also want to consider higher floor units and avoid the stacks that face the multi-storey car park directly, along the main roads as well as those near facilities such as the children’s playground and the childcare centre.
Last but not least, it is important to take note of undeveloped land areas near your estate as future developments can sometimes affect your existing home fengshui. In the case of Woodlands South Plains, some stacks (140, 142, 144, 146) along Woodlands Drive 17 lie directly across a reserved land for future high rise development.
Even if there are no direct conflicts upon the completion of a new development, residents would need to avoid or take measures to counter construction noises and conflicting energies (冲煞) during the development period.
