Aug 2022 BTO: Havelock Hillside Fengshui Unit Review

Source: HDB

Havelock Hillside, located in the central region of Singapore, was launched under the Prime Location Public Housing (PLH) model in HDB’s August 2022 Build-To-Order (BTO) exercise alongside Alexandra Vale in Bukit Merah Town. In this article, we’ll take an in-depth fengshui review on this upcoming BTO estate to assess its fengshui qualities and see what it has to offer beyond its prime location.

Note: The PLH model ensures that new public housing built in prime, central locations like the city centre and the Greater Southern Waterfront will remain affordable and accessible for Singaporeans. Learn more

Havelock Hillside: Landform fengshui

Located along Havelock Road, Havelock Hillside is in the precinct of Pearl’s Hill. It resides on the Western Dragon and belongs to a magnificent fengshui land formation known as “Flying Dragons Disgorging Pearls”.

Based on Singapore’s fengshui, there are three pearls, each scattered at South Canal Road, Duxton Hill and Banda Street. The area surrounding the pearl will stand to benefit from its positive energies and enjoy prosperity.

Those considering Havelock Hillside should keep in mind that the fengshui of Pearl’s Hill favours residents with strong Bazi. It is unsuitable for those with weaker Bazi and those who desire effortless fortune.

Internal fengshui considerations

When it comes to choosing an ideal unit, keep in mind that the main orientation of a house will directly influence the overall luck of its residents. The house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.

Havelock Hillside offers two residential blocks of 869 units in total, with 171 three-room and 698 four-room units that are 42- and 45-storey tall.

Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in the upcoming Periods 9 and 1 (years 2024 – 2063), and Northwest and Southeast are the second most auspicious directions.

The good news is most of the units at Havelock Hillside face the above-mentioned favourable directions. Aspiring homeowners planning to get a BTO unit here are advised to select a unit wisely. Here’s what we recommend:

North facing units

Blk 97A – 601, 603, 605

Blk 98A – 621

Northwest facing units

Blk 97A – 599, 607, 609

Blk 98A – 617, 619, 635, 637, 639, 641

South facing units

Blk 97A – 591, 593, 613, 615

Blk 98A –  623, 625

Southeast facing units

Blk 97A – 611

Blk 98A – 627, 629, 631

It is important to note that there is no fixed lucky direction that caters to everyone. If necessary, you can seek advice from a professional fengshui practitioner to help you create a harmonious environment in your new home.

Exterior fengshui considerations

As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a new home.  It is always worthwhile to do a physical site visit prior to your property purchase.

Being in a prime location, Havelock Hillside offers easy accessibility to shopping malls, food centres, schools, etc. It is also conveniently located within walking distance to Tiong Bahru and the upcoming Havelock MRT station.

Generally, a prime location implies a more crowded housing environment but it seems that Havelock Hillside – unlike Alexandra Vale -is well tucked away with sufficient spacing from its surrounding residential buildings, reducing the risk of negative impacts such as noise pollution.

There’s a Chinese temple adjacent to Havelock Hillside. Some people may be concerned about the qi imbalance to the surroundings or feel that it is bad luck to have a view of a temple. However, with so many people staying together within the blocks in the vicinity, the yang energy gathered is strong enough to ward off the yin energy from the temple. If you are concerned, you may consider the stacks at Block 98A that are further away,

Also, do note that there is no definite answer as to whether the temple will cause negative influence to the residential feng shui. An on-site assessment for each unit is needed to determine the effects of the temple on the dwelling. To evaluate the auspiciousness of an area, we need to consider factors like the house facing, distance from the temple, luck cycle of the residents etc.

Based on the site plan, some stacks (591, 593, 611, 613, 615, 623, 635) face the multi-storey car park with roof garden directly. Try to avoid lower floor units that face directly or are near to the car park, as constant vehicle movements indicate Sound Sha [声煞] and Light Sha [光煞], which could cause disturbances to daily life such as insomnia. For those who choose a unit that faces the car park, please consider installing a window blind.

Did you know?

A building’s height is an important consideration when selecting an ideal property. From the fengshui aspect, the higher you are staying, there’s a lesser chance of encountering certain fengshui conflicts.

Opting for apartments on higher floors can help homeowners to get unblocked views and most importantly, reduce the likelihood of encountering negative forces. Nevertheless, there will be challenges to accumulating auspicious energies.

In the case of Havelock Hillside, any units above 24 storey should put residents above most HDBs around the area. Nonetheless, it’s best to keep in mind that moderation is key.

Which fengshui BTO units to choose in Havelock Hillside?

The prime location of Havelock Hillside makes it very attractive, but it is important to select a unit that is auspicious in the reigning luck cycle and suitable for your bazi. Selecting a fengshui unit can also help you to create a harmonious home, improve mood and energy, and attract opportunities and benefactors.

So, wait no further! Our masters will evaluate your units based on a four-point method, analysing the luck cycle, direction, Bazi suitability and missing sector to make your fengshui selection unit a breeze. Learn more here.
