Following the news of the Anglo-Chinese School’s relocation plan to Tengah, this new town in western Singapore that revolves around nature and community has gained further popularity. In this article, we will take an in-depth fengshui review of Plantation Verge – one of the two new Tengah housing projects launched in HDB’s May 2023 Build-To-Order (BTO) exercise.
The name Plantation Verge references the project’s location along the Forest Fringe. Abundant trees and bushes, in addition to good land contour and rich water, are considered important elements for an ideal fengshui environment. Could Plantation Verge be your ideal fengshui home? Let’s take an in-depth fengshui review together to assess this upcoming BTO’s fengshui qualities. Read on!
Plantation Verge: Landform fengshui
Located in Tengah’s Plantation district, Plantation Verge will be built along Plantation Close. The BTO estate is expected to reside on the Western Dragon, and belongs to the fengshui formation of “Land of the Flower Basket” under the Jurong precinct. It is believed that long-time residents in Jurong tend to possess good looks and great talents too. They are often equipped with capabilities and growing wealth.
In terms of development, Jurong is favourable for innovative and creative industries. Those who are working in creative-related businesses and educational institutions will do well here. Families and singles looking to strive in their career, especially females, can also consider this area.
Also, it is good to take note of the nearby fengshui formation of a pair of “Golden Boy and Jade Girl”, located respectively at Jurong East and Jurong West. Romance luck abounds in Jurong and singles can look forward to finding their ideal partners. Nonetheless, caution is needed to avoid love tragedies. In particular, married people must practise faithfulness, or one will share the same fate as the golden boy and jade girl who remain separated.
Internal fengshui considerations
When it comes to choosing an ideal unit, keep in mind that the main orientation of a house will directly influence the overall luck of its residents. The house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.
Plantation Verge in Tengah offers 7 residential blocks of 971 units in total, which range from 14 to 18 storeys in height. Potential homeowners can choose from 2-Flexi, 3-, 4- and 5-room flats.
Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in the upcoming Period 9 and Period 1 (years 2024 – 2063), and Northwest and Southeast are the second most auspicious directions.
At Plantation Verge, there are several stacks facing Northwest and Southeast, and a few rare units facing North and South. Aspiring homeowners should note that there is no fixed lucky direction that caters to everyone, but do be careful when selecting a unit. Here’s what we recommend:
North facing units
Block 101B – 179, 181
South facing units
Block 101B – 167
Northwest facing units
Block 100A – 101, 103, 105, 117

Block 101A – 141, 143, 145

Selecting a suitable flat can be a daunting task, especially if you are a first-time homeowner. When in doubt, you may like to leave it to the professionals. Way Fengshui provides end-to-end fengshui services from selecting an ideal unit to helping you create a harmonious environment in your new home.
Exterior fengshui considerations
As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a new home.
Plantation Verge’s location in Tengah will provide it the best of both worlds – being in the new town and just across the Pan-island expressway (PIE) from the well-developed Jurong East precinct. It is also conveniently located near several schools, which make it ideal for families with children.
A primary school is expected to be built near to the estate cluster, and there will be a place of worship across Block 100B. There is no cause of worry to stay near a place of worship, in case you are wondering. Nevertheless. If you seek peace and quiet, you may want to consider stacks that are away from the main roads, amenities, car parks and zones where there are high levels of human activities.
This BTO development, like so many others in Tengah, will be surrounded by many high-rise residential buildings as Tengah is expected to develop rapidly within the next 20 years. As such, you should take note of future developments surrounding your home. High-rise buildings in proximity present a potential risk of conflicts such as Tian Zhan Sha (home’s frontage facing an opening between two or more building structures that funnel negative energies), corner Sha (角煞) where sharp corners present hidden threats, etc.
Some of you may be worried about noise and light pollution from the PIE. Well, the outer stacks of some blocks (105, 107, 133, 135, 207, 209, 221, 223) will face the expressway indeed, but there is a proposed park – which could be a buffer for these stacks.
Due to Singapore’s limited land space, there is a prevalence of multi-storey car parks (MSCP) within our local residential estates. This facility provides much convenience to residents, but at the cost of encountering fengshui conflicting forces (煞气) such as noise pollution (噪音) and headlight flashes from moving cars. Within Plantation Verge, some stacks are near/facing the 6-storey MSCP directly.
While Plantation Verge’s MSCP conveniently incorporates a childcare centre on the second storey and a roof garden on the top floor, this implies further noises. Interestingly though, the children’s playground and adult fitness centre are built within Block 101 and the carpark, acting as a buffer. Hence, only those who are choosing Stack 135, 137, 147, 145, 185, 187, 207 may be affected. To reduce noise disturbances at home, you may consider installing sound-proof windows or curtains and blinds.
Last but not least, Stack 203, 205, 229 and 231 are near the Bin Center. Do ensure that your front door (especially those on the lower floor units) does not face the Bin Centre directly, otherwise your house will be amongst the first to be affected by rubbish stench once the wind starts blowing even if the estate uses the Pneumatic Waste Conveyance System (PWCS).
Did you know?
When analysing a residence, fengshui practitioners tailor their recommendations according to the fengshui principle of accumulating auspicious energies (藏风纳气). Higher floors are windier. While such flats enjoy a steady breeze, does it also imply that auspicious energies enter as quickly as they would leave?
This is something home buyers should strongly consider when selecting their new home! For families living on higher floors, the safety of your little ones is of utmost importance. It’s better to be safe than sorry, so remember to install safety grilles for your windows.
Which fengshui BTO units to choose in Plantation Verge?
Plantation Verge, along with its amenities and strategic location, could be ideal in time to come. However, it is important to select a unit that is auspicious in the reigning luck cycle and suitable for your bazi. Selecting a fengshui unit can also help you to create a harmonious home, improve mood and energy, and attract opportunities and benefactors.
So, wait no further! Our masters will evaluate your units based on a four-point method, analysing the luck cycle, direction, Bazi suitability and missing sector to make your fengshui selection unit a breeze. Learn more here.
