Centrally located in the Kallang/Whampoa precinct, Farrer Park Arena is the only Build-To-Order (BTO) development in HDB’s May 2023 BTO exercise to fall under the Prime Location Public Housing (PLH) model.

Its prime location makes this new BTO project look attractive but let’s not forget the fengshui aspects. In this article, we will take an in-depth fengshui review on Farrer Park Arena to assess its fengshui qualities. Read on!

Note: The PLH model ensures that new public housing built in prime, central locations like the city centre and the Greater Southern Waterfront will remain affordable and accessible for Singaporeans. Learn more

Farrer Park Arena: Landform fengshui

Bounded by Farrer Park Road and Dorset Road, Farrer Park Arena resides on the Southern Dragon (of Wealth) and lies on Singapore’s only “Land of Pig”. This fengshui formation is known as “Divine Pig in Spring Slumber”. Contrary to the misconception of pigs being lazy and slow, these plump animals represent fortune and fertility.

Hence, it’s no wonder that Singapore’s largest gynaecological hospital, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, is located in this district. The unique design of this hospital resembles that of a “Golden Basin” and it is located near to the head of the Southern Dragon. Therefore, the later generations who are born here shall enjoy greater prosperity.

Although the Land of the Pig makes an ideal place for settling down and starting businesses, the qi of this land might induce a lack of discipline and carelessness. Overcoming these challenges shall allow one to achieve success.

Internal fengshui considerations

When it comes to choosing an ideal unit, keep in mind that the main orientation of a house will directly influence the overall luck of its residents. The house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.

Farrer Park Arena offers 3 residential blocks of 569 units in total, each at 24 storeys in height. Potential homeowners can choose from 3- and 4-room flats.

Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in the upcoming Period 9 and Period 1 (years 2024 – 2063), and Northwest and Southeast are the second most auspicious directions.

At Farrer Park Arena, several units face the above-mentioned second most auspicious directions. Here’s what we recommend:

Northwest facing units

Block 19B – 222, 224, 226, 228

Block 19C – 234, 236, 246, 248

Southeast facing units

Block 19A – 210, 212

Block 19B – 218, 220, 230, 232

Block 19C – 238, 240, 242, 244

It is important to note that there is no fixed lucky direction that caters to everyone. If necessary, you can seek advice from a professional fengshui practitioner to help you create a harmonious environment in your new home.

Exterior fengshui considerations

As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a new home. It is always worthwhile to do a physical site visit prior to your property purchase.

The prime location of Farrer Park Arena promises the convenience of various amenities in the mature town. In addition to a sports complex and community centre nearby, residents will also be able to enjoy the green surrounds and fitness stations around the BTO project. Nevertheless, such convenience generally implies a more crowded housing environment and potential Sha (conflict points).

Another thing to note is that some surrounding sites of this upcoming BTO project have been reserved for the development of high-rise residential buildings. Residents are advised to take measures to counter construction noises and conflicting energies (冲煞) during the development period.

High-rise buildings in proximity present a potential risk of conflicts such as Tian Zhan Sha (home’s frontage facing an opening between two or more building structures that funnel negative energies), corner Sha (角煞) where sharp corners present hidden threats or oppression, etc. If you encounter such scenarios, you may display a pair of guardian lions or Six Emperor Coins emblem to ward off the negative energies.

Based on the site plan of Farrer Park Arena, some stacks at Block 19A face Farrer Park Primary School. Those who are choosing a unit here can expect noises and heavier traffic during peak hours.

Also, Stack 216, 222, 224, 238 and 240 are in close proximity to the centralised refuse chute. These stacks are not recommended as you may be affected by the rubbish stench when the wind blows, especially if rubbish is not disposed of properly. If you are selecting a unit in one of these stacks, you must ensure that your front door does not face the refuse chute directly. If required, you may want to consult a professional fengshui practitioner for remedies to such a situation.

Did you know?

It is no secret that flats are getting smaller around major cities in the world, and especially so in land-scarce Singapore. Mirrors are often used to give the illusion of depth, thereby making the interior space look bigger than it actually is. However, there are some fengshui taboos that you should take note of if you’re thinking of installing mirrors in your living space.

  • Mirrors should be positioned to face internal walls. If your mirror faces the main door or window, they may reflect influences of the external environment, which can be negative to the well-being and emotions of household members.
  • Avoid installing too many mirrors, as the multiple reflections and shadows may easily cause one to be in a trance, heightening stress and anxiety
  • Opt for plain mirrors instead of those with fancy patterns or mosaics. Fragmented patterns may give a sense of brokenness.

Which fengshui BTO units to choose in Farrer Park Arena?

The prime location and ideal fengshui land formation where Farrer Park Arena is located makes it attractive but there’s more to consider when one is selecting an ideal fengshui home. Remember, it is important to select a unit that is auspicious in the reigning luck cycle and suitable for your bazi. Selecting a fengshui unit can also help you to create a harmonious home, improve mood and energy, and attract opportunities and benefactors.

So, wait no further! Our masters will evaluate your units based on a four-point method, analysing the luck cycle, direction, Bazi suitability and missing sector to make your fengshui selection unit a breeze. Learn more here.
