Centrally located near to various facilities and amenities, Alkaff CourtView is one of the first few public housing developments in the new Bidadari estate. Completed in 2020, Alkaff CourtView is an award-winning HDB development that will reach its Minimum Occupancy Period (MOP) in the year 2025.
Regardless of whether you are an Alkaff CourtView homeowner looking to improve your home fengshui or a potential home buyer, here’s our detailed fengshui review of this relatively new housing development in the central region of Singapore. Read on!
Alkaff CourtView: Landform fengshui
Located along Upper Aljunied Road and Upper Serangoon Road in District 13, Alkaff CourtView sits across the road from Alkaff LakeView connected by a link bridge. Like its neighbouring estate, this highly sought-after BTO estate in Bidadari lies on the Eastern Dragon, representative of the Wood element. It seems fitting that the estate is envisioned as an urban oasis in a garden-like setting with much greenery.
From a fengshui perspective, Alkaff CourtView is part of the “Transporting Cart of Gold and Jade” formation. This is a propitious land that is suitable for industries such as commerce, finance, accounting, investments, etc. To improve or retain wealth luck, those who are living or doing businesses here are recommended to conduct renovation or a revamp from time to time.
External fengshui considerations
As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a new home.
Alkaff Courtyard comprises several facilities and amenities such as an eating house, education centre, supermarket, etc, much to the convenience of the residents. However, certain blocks are bound to experience greater noise levels, e.g. if you are near to the eating house or children’s playground.
Also, traffic noises from upper Serangoon Road, especially for stacks in Block 101A that face the Stamford American International School, are likely to affect residents’ living quality. Homeowners may want to consider installing sound insulation to reduce noise disturbances from the external environment.
Although Alkaff Courtyard reflects the concept of living in a park, designed with lush greenery (a plus in fengshui!), some blocks within this high-density housing estate are built relatively near to one another, indicating potential conflicts.
Homeowners should take note that high-rise buildings in proximity present a potential risk of conflicts such as Tian Zhan Sha (home’s frontage facing an opening between two or more building structures that funnel negative energies), corner Sha (角煞) where sharp corners present hidden threats, etc. If in doubt, consider seeking advice from a professional fengshui practitioner.
Internal fengshui considerations
The main orientation of your house will directly influence the overall luck of your household member(s). This house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.

Alkaff CourtView comprises 6 residential blocks of 1,258 units of 2-room flexi, 3- and 4-room flats at a height of 17 storeys. The estate comprises units that face North or South, Northwest or Southeast and East or West.
Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in the upcoming Period 9 and Period 1 (years 2024 – 2063), followed by Northwest and Southeast. We have identified some Period 9 Auspicious Homes, as listed below. Do you live in any of these blocks?
While there is no fixed lucky direction that caters to everyone, those residing in a unit that faces East or West should consider a fengshui consultation as these directions are not as favourable in the upcoming fengshui periods.
Besides that, if your main door faces your neighbour’s main door, do display a round light in between the two doors, or hang a Super 5 Shield at the top of your door frame. From a home fengshui viewpoint, conflicting energies between both households may arise and affect harmony if two main entrances face each other directly.
As Period 9 corresponds with the South, representing a strong Fire element, it is good to ensure that your premises is balanced in energy, otherwise excessive Fire influence can result in anxiety and restlessness, which would in turn affect health and household harmony. Homeowners can consider incorporating a water feature to balance the Fire element with Water.
If in doubt, it is best to consult a professional fengshui practitioner for a suitable water feature position. It is critical to display your water feature in the right place, so as to avoid adverse impacts on health, wealth and relationships in the household.
Additionally, while it is recommended to engage a professional fengshui practitioner at the beginning of your home journey, it’s never too late to review your Bazi compatibility with your home or get a 2nd opinion to improve your home fengshui. Way Fengshui provides professional residential fengshui services with the ultimate aim of helping you to create a harmonious environment in your new home.
Did you know?
It is no secret that new BTO flats in land-scarce Singapore are usually much smaller than older resale flats. Mirrors are often used to give the illusion of depth, thereby making the interior space look bigger than it actually is.
Here’s another good reason to incorporate mirror(s) in your home: mirrors represent the element of Water, which can help to balance the strong Fire energy that Period 9 is associated with. However, there are some fengshui taboos that you should take note of if you’re thinking of installing mirrors in your living space.
- Mirrors should be positioned to face internal walls. If your mirror faces the main door or window, they may reflect influences of the external environment, which can be negative to the well-being and emotions of household members.
- Avoid installing too many mirrors, as the multiple reflections and shadows may easily cause one to be in a trance, heightening stress and anxiety
- Opt for plain mirrors instead of those with fancy patterns or mosaics. Fragmented patterns may give a sense of brokenness.
If you are planning to conduct home renovation to tap on the benefitting energies of Period 9, don’t forget to choose an auspicious date before you proceed. We have a list of auspicious dates, readily available at the Way Almanac App – free for all to download!
Welcome Period 9 with good home fengshui
Alkaff CourtView offers convenience in terms of location, facilities and amenities in its vicinity. Built upon the land of a former cemetery, this BTO estate benefits from the positive landform fengshui amongst all factors.
Nevertheless, a number of units that face East or West – the less favourable directions in the coming Period 9 – are at a fengshui disadvantage. To improve/further enhance fengshui influences so that you and your household members can thrive consistently in the upcoming Period 9, don’t hesitate to contact Way Fengshui Consultancy for your home fengshui needs.
