Hougang Citrine, a Build-To-Order (BTO) housing project in Hougang, was met with great enthusiasm by home seekers during its launch in August 2021. In fact, it received one of the largest number of home applicants for a non-mature estate then! Four years on, this new housing project has finally obtained its TOP (temporary occupation permit).
Congratulations to all homeowners who have collected your keys!

Landform fengshui: Hougang Citrine in District 19
In Singapore, the Five Dragon Landform Fengshui harnesses “hidden dragons”, which are man-made structures that channel energy flows. From the lens of fengshui, roads act as “dragon veins,” skyscrapers as “mountain dragons” offering stability, and waterways serve as wealth-attracting “water dragons.”
The five auspicious dragons, namely Eastern, Western, Southern, Northern, and Central, along with the Singapore and Kallang Rivers, converge to drive the city’s growth and prosperity, with each dragon influencing a region’s success.
Hougang Citrine is positioned near the tail of the Eastern Dragon — a fengshui location known for its dynamic, shifting energies. The Dragon’s Tail symbolises movement, transformation, and the need for resilience in the face of change. While this area carries a more unpredictable flow of qi, it also offers opportunities for those with courage, adaptability, and an unwavering heart. Residents who can embrace flexibility and maintain inner strength are well-placed to ride the waves of change and turn challenges into breakthroughs. With its vibrant and ever-evolving energy, Hougang Citrine presents a unique environment for those ready to grow, innovate, and carve out their own path to success.
Fengshui Formation of Bartley Beacon
Located along Hougang Ave 3 in Singapore’s district 19, Hougang Citrine sits on the Eastern Dragon of Singapore within the fengshui formation of the “Paired Lotus Land”, which represents good luck and happiness and favours females.
The Paired Lotus Land tends to produce strong-minded yet traditional women, with the potential of making it big. To make it big, female residents are advised to tap on their knowledge wisely to ensure a holistic development.
Hougang Citrine’s proximity to a number of schools also makes it ideal for young families. Aligning to the landform fengshui, our fengshui master recommends young families with daughters to consider this area, as it would be beneficial in terms of study and career prospects.
Exterior fengshui considerations

As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a new home.
During its launch, many people compared Hougang Citrine with Kovan Wellspring, as the latter seems to be more attractive with easier accessibility and more amenities. Nonetheless, from a fengshui perspective, the relatively ‘quieter’ location of Hougang Citrine indicates lesser potential points of conflict.
Located across the road from Hougang Olive, Hougang Citrine offers similar conveniences such as recreational facilities, schools, and upcoming developments of a neighbourhood park, healthcare facilities, supermarket, shops and eating house around the vicinity.
Families with school-age children will enjoy the conveniences of having not one, but two schools literally at its doorstep! There are two reserved sites for school at the South and Southwest of Hougang Citrine.
Note that South-facing units at Block 179A, 179B, and 179C are nearer to the reserved site for the school, and those on the higher floors will have unblocked views as they overlook the private housing estates. This is a point to consider as that indicates smoother flow of energy in the absence of points of conflict (sha).
For North-facing units along Hougang Street 12, pay attention to Hougang Olive sitting across the road, which may pose potential points of conflict (sha). Seek advice from a fengshui practitioner if you have doubts.
Also across the road from Hougang Citrine (next to Hougang Olive) is the Lentor Health Nursing Home and Lentor Health Senior Care Centre. Some stacks at Block 178A will overlook this medical and healthcare centre. Nursing homes, like hospitals, are “yin” in nature, and the knowledge of staying near such establishments may cause unease to some people—possibly leading to physical and mental fatigue in the long term. For those who seek lesser noise disturbances, consider installing additional sound insulation.
Lower floor units (below 5 storeys) that are facing the Multi-Storey Car Park (MSCP) directly should be mindful of light and noise pollution, particularly stack 216 and 218 whose living room and bedrooms face the MSCP. Excessive Light Sha and Sound Sha can increase stress and blood pressure levels. Worse still, it can even lead to insomnia.
Situated in the non-mature town of Hougang, Hougang Citrine is located in a developing area that will be encircled by high-rise public housing and industrial projects. Residents should remain mindful of upcoming developments, as these may bring potential conflict points, construction-related pollution, and negative energies (Sha Qi) during the building phase.
High-rise buildings in proximity present a potential risk of conflicts such as Tian Zhan Sha (home’s frontage facing an opening between two or more building structures that funnel negative energies), corner Sha (角煞) where sharp corners present hidden threats or oppression, etc. If you encounter such scenarios, it’s best to consult a professional fengshui practitioner.
Internal fengshui considerations
Homeowners should bear in mind the main orientation of your house, as it will directly influence the overall luck of your household member(s). The house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.
Tip: Did you know a physical Luopan (fengshui compass) is much more sensitive to the Qi, energy of the house than an digital compass? You can use our Free Way Almanac App to know your rough direction of your house. It is still advisable to get a professional fengshui Master to fix your home direction.

Hougang Citrine comprises six residential blocks ranging from 12 to 13 storeys, with choices of 749 units across 2-room Flexi, 3-room, 4-room, and 5-room flats. The warm, orange shades (Fire Element) of the development’s facade is the namesake of the estate.
Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in the current Period 9 and Period 1 (years 2024 – 2063), followed by Northwest and Southeast. We have categorised the units under the Period 9 Auspicious Home Ranking chart, as listed below.
Most units at Hougang Citrine face favourable directions in the current fengshui period. With appropriate fengshui measures, you can optimise your household luck to thrive further if your home is North- or South-facing.
However, take note that certain stacks lie on the boundary between two directions. These are indicated with the ⚠️ sign. If your unit falls into this category, you may want to consider a professional fengshui consultation for guidance.
As for units with main doors that face each other, be mindful of conflicting energies. If your main door faces your neighbour’s main door directly, you should also consult a professional fengshui practitioner to minimise the negative impacts.
Did you know?
Period 9 corresponds with the South, representing a strong Fire element. As such, one should be mindful of locating important spaces within your premises. For example, it is best to make adjustments if your stove (also of fire element) is facing South, otherwise too much fire energy can cause instability and burnout for members in the household.
In fengshui, the stove represents “the female owner of the house”. As such, the state of the stove in your house represents the condition of your mother or wife. If your stove happens to face South, you are highly recommended to consult a professional fengshui master for appropriate fengshui measures.
Thrive in Period 9 with good home fengshui
As with most things in life, getting it right from the start will save you lots of effort. More than just the correct placement of furniture or avoiding certain colours, home fengshui looks into compatibility amongst the homeowners and your living spaces.
From a fengshui perspective, Hougang Citrine sits on a favourable fengshui land with most units facing the most auspicious directions of Period 9. However, a detailed on-site fengshui consultation would help homeowners gain a complete understanding of the unique fengshui footprint of your home and how you can optimise it to your advantage.
