Landform fengshui: Bartley Beacon in District 12

In Singapore, the Five Dragon Landform Fengshui harnesses “hidden dragons”—man-made structures that channel energy flows. Roads act as “dragon veins,” skyscrapers are “mountain dragons” offering stability, and waterways serve as wealth-attracting “water dragons.”

The five auspicious dragons—Eastern, Western, Southern, Northern, and Central—along with the Singapore and Kallang Rivers, converge to drive the city’s growth and prosperity, with each dragon influencing a region’s success.

Bartley Beacon is located along the South Dragon Body of the dragon vein — a fengshui position symbolising stability, balance, and the flow of nourishing energy. The Dragon Body is where the pulse of the land moves steadily, supporting growth and fortifying one’s foundations. This location requires the blessings of good fortune and a stable heart to fully harness its potential, making it ideal for those seeking long-term success, family harmony, and personal development. However, as the energy here is steady but less aggressive, residents are encouraged to cultivate vitality and maintain positive momentum to maximise opportunities. With its auspicious placement along the South Dragon Body, Bartley Beacon offers a serene yet empowering environment for enduring prosperity and well-being.

Fengshui Formation of Bartley Beacon

Bartley Beacon is located within Bidadari estate in Toa Payoh town. Located at the junction of Bartley Road and Mount Vernon Road, this recently TOP housing project sits on the Southern Dragon in Singapore’s district 12.

Here, the fengshui formation “Land of the Lotus Flower” is conducive for self-cultivation. Residents are advised to stay down-to-earth and hold firm to their values.

To complement the “lotus flowers” formation, it is believed that more water features and elements of “green” for all developments within the Toa Payoh district can bring sustainable prosperity.  To further enhance home fengshui, residents can consider incorporating water features at home and applying the colour green.

Exterior fengshui considerations

As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a new home.

With Bartley MRT station at its doorstep, Bartley Beacon offers good accessibility to amenities and nature. It’s no wonder that its application rate was oversubscribed!

School-age families shall enjoy the conveniences of having several schools nearby, such as Maris Stella High School (approx. 260m away), Cedar Primary School (approx. 930m away) and Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ Primary School (approx. 980m away). Nevertheless, with a school being literally “next door”, residents of Bartley Beacon must be prepared for the heavier traffic and noises during active school hours.

In fengshui, it is believed that a house situated on a hill can produce positive energy if the hill is a gentle slope and is located behind the house. Interestingly, Bartley Beacon is located on a gentle slope.

Built upon the existing site terrain with the overall layout conceived as a mountainous trek beginning from Bartley MRT towards Bidadari Park, this new BTO project includes cascading water features, which complements the “lotus flowers” formation that we mentioned earlier. Could this be a coincidence?

With Bartley Beacon consisting of eight residential blocks, residents should be aware of potential fengshui conflicts arising from nearby high-rise structures. These include Tian Zhan Sha, where an opening between buildings funnels negative energies toward a home’s frontage, Corner Sha (角煞), where sharp building corners create hidden threats, and Constriction Sha, which occurs when air currents between structures converge, forcefully directing energy at units situated in between.

Opening windows for ventilation may inadvertently invite these inauspicious energies into the home, potentially leading to feelings of lethargy and pessimism. If in doubt, don’t hesitate to consult a professional  fengshui  master for appropriate fengshui measures.

The junction between Bartley Walk and Mount Vernon Road could be a potential landform obstruction, indicating Sha Qi. However, homes on higher floors remain unaffected. In fact, the Bin Centre at Block 225 and the Precinct Pavilion at Block 223 serve as effective buffers, shielding lower-floor units in Blocks 223A and 223B from any adverse effects, so there’s no need for concern.

On the other hand, lower floor units (7 storeys and below) facing the MSCP directly should be mindful of light and noise pollution, particularly stack 164, 166, 180, 182 and 184. Excessive Light Sha and Sound Sha can increase stress and blood pressure levels. Worse still, it can even lead to insomnia.

Last but not least, ongoing construction in the developing Bidadari estate calls for residents to monitor your surroundings. Stay mindful of developments near Bartley Beacon, as this indicates potential conflict points, as well as pollution and negative energies (Sha Qi) during the construction period. If you encounter any issues, don’t hesitate to consult a professional  fengshui  practitioner.

Internal fengshui considerations

Homeowners should bear in mind the main orientation of your house, as it will directly influence the overall luck of your household member(s). The house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.

Tip: Did you know a physical Luopan (fengshui compass) is much more sensitive to the Qi, energy of the house than an digital compass? You can use our Free Way Almanac App to know your rough direction of your house. It is still advisable to get a professional fengshui Master to fix your home direction.

Bartley Beacon comprises eight residential blocks with 880 units of 3-, 4- and 5-room flats in total. The blocks range from 14 to 17-storeys in height.

Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in the current Period 9 and Period 1 (years 2024 – 2063), followed by Northwest and Southeast. We have categorised the units under the Period 9 Auspicious Home Ranking chart, as listed below.

Most units at Bartley Beacon face favourable directions in the current fengshui period. With appropriate fengshui measures, you can optimise your household luck to thrive further, especially if your home is North- or South-facing.

However, take note that many stacks lie on the boundary between two directions. These are indicated with the ⚠️ sign. If your unit falls into this category, consider seeking a professional fengshui consultation for guidance.

Take note that units located near the lift are likely to encounter unstable magnetic fields at home, which could lead to household disharmony and health issues. Thankfully, there are fengshui remedies for such situations.

For units with main doors facing each other, be aware of potential energy conflicts. If your door directly aligns with your neighbor’s, consulting a professional fengshui practitioner can help mitigate any negative effects.

Did you know?

Money is not everything, but without it, you can hardly do anything. For those who are focused on building your wealth, you may want to be more mindful of your wealth position, as well as the shoe shelf, in your home.

The wealth position refers to a place where wealth accumulates. Hence, the space surrounding your wealth position must be kept clean and tidy. There should not be clutter, electrical appliances or sharp objects around or at your wealth position.

There is heavy Sha (煞气) aka negative energies where the shoe shelf is located. Hence, your wealth luck will be affected if your shoe shelf directly faces your wealth position. Some people unknowingly positioned their shoe shelf at their wealth position. When this happens, their wealth is likely to disperse and one may find that it is difficult to accumulate wealth. Should this happen, it is best to shift the shoe shelf or avoid placing shoes within the rack.

For the uninitiated, the fengshui Period 9 is influenced by a wealth star, indicating growing fortune and propitiousness. However, the Fire element influencing this current period can be unstable. If you are planning to conduct home renovation to tap on the benefitting energies of Period 9, do get in touch for a fengshui consultation.
