Farrer Park Fields, located between Farrer Park and Little India MRT stations, is one of the two new housing projects launched under the Prime Location Public Housing (PLH) model in HDB’s February 2023 Build-To-Order (BTO) exercise.

Farrer Park Fields: Landform fengshui
Bounded by Race Course Road, Hampshire Road, and Farrer Park Road, Farrer Park Fields falls in the precinct of Tekka, which sits on the Southern Dragon and has the fengshui land formation of the “Divine Pig in Spring Slumber”. Identified to be Singapore’s only ‘Land of Pig’, this is an ideal place for settling down and starting businesses.
As pigs represent fortune and fertility, it is no wonder that Singapore’s largest gynaecological hospital – KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, is also located in Tekka. The unique design of this hospital resembles that of a’ Golden Basin’ and it is located near to the head of the Southern Dragon (Dragon of Wealth). This implies that later generations born here shall enjoy greater prosperity. This may be in the favour of newlyweds who plan to bid for a Farrer Park Fields BTO flat.
There’s just one thing to take note of; the qi of this land might induce a lack of discipline and carelessness. Overcoming these challenges shall allow one to achieve success.

Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in the upcoming Period 9 and Period 1 (years 2024 – 2063), and Northwest and Southeast are the second most auspicious directions.

Exterior fengshui considerations
As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a new home. It is always worthwhile to do a physical site visit prior to your property purchase.
Being in a prime location, Farrer Park Fields offers easy accessibility to public transport, shopping malls, food centres, schools, etc. In fact, it is less than a 10-minute walk to both Farrer Park and Little India MRT stations. Such convenience generally implies a more crowded housing environment and potential Sha (conflict points).
Based on the site plan, there are a few stacks at Farrer Park Fields that face the multi-storey car park (MSCP) directly. These are stack 217, 271, 273, 295 and 311. It is best to avoid lower floor units that face directly or are near to the car park, as constant vehicle movements indicate Sound Sha [声煞] and Light Sha [光煞], which could cause disturbances to daily life such as insomnia. For those who choose a unit that faces the car park, please consider installing a window blind.
Also, stacks 201, 203, 205 and 219 are in close proximity to the Bin Center. If you are selecting a unit in one of these stacks, do ensure that your front door (especially those on the lower floor units) does not face the Bin Centre directly, otherwise your house will be amongst the first to be affected by rubbish stench once the wind starts blowing, even if the estate uses the Pneumatic Waste Conveyance System (PWCS).
Certain stacks at Block 18C faces Race Course Road while some at Block 16D face Farrer Park Primary School. Those who are choosing a unit in any of these blocks can expect noises and heavier traffic during peak hours.
Another thing to note is that some surrounding sites of Farrer Park Fields have been reserved for the development of high-rise residential buildings. Residents are advised to take measures to counter construction noises and conflicting energies (冲煞) during the development period.
High-rise buildings in proximity typically present a potential risk of conflicts such as Tian Zhan Sha (home’s frontage facing an opening between two or more building structures that funnel negative energies), corner Sha (角煞) where sharp corners present hidden threats, etc. If in doubt, don’t hesitate to consult a professional fengshui practitioner.
