Landform fengshui: Costa Grove in Pasir Ris (D18)

In Singapore, the Five Dragon Landform Fengshui harnesses “hidden dragons”, which are man-made structures that channel energy flows. From the lens of fengshui, roads act as “dragon veins”, skyscrapers as “mountain dragons” offering stability, and waterways serve as wealth-attracting “water dragons”.
The five auspicious dragons, namely Eastern, Western, Southern, Northern, and Central, along with the Singapore and Kallang Rivers, converge to drive the city’s growth and prosperity, with each dragon influencing a region’s success.
Bounded by Pasir Ris Drive 3 and Pasir Ris Green, Costa Grove sits near the head of the Eastern Dragon (aka Wood Dragon). Being near the Dragon’s head calls for individuals with strong Bazi; otherwise, maintaining stability in career, relationships, and health may prove challenging.
Fengshui formation: Costa Grove in Pasir Ris (D18)

Costa Grove is part of the fengshui land formation of “Peacock Flaunting its Plume”. According to an ancient Chinese saying, “the phoenix hides in the mountains while the peacock appears by the sea”. With its proximity to the coastline, Costa Grove lies in an area that offers quality living, hence making it ideal for young families to settle down, city dwellers to enjoy a vacation as well as senior citizens to retire.
Nevertheless, residents who are lazy might easily lose drive and fighting spirit. Hence, one must keep in mind to constantly work hard. Being a conducive area for raising children, couples who are planning to start or expand their family can consider staying here.
Exterior fengshui considerations
As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a new home.

Surrounded by Pasir Ris Park and Sungei Api Api, Costa Grove literally has recreational and outdoor activities at its doorstep. Despite its location at the far northeastern part of Singapore, this 2025 TOP-ed housing project offers accessibility with the Pasir Ris MRT station within walking distance. There are also several schools in the vicinity, making it ideal for school-age families.
In fengshui, unblocked views are favoured as it represents the Red Phoenix, symbolising aspirations and a bright future. Such smooth flow of energy in the absence of points of conflict (sha) is essential. Hence, stacks overlooking Pasir Ris park will benefit as they promise unblocked views.
Some units at Costa Grove also overlook Sungei Api Api. Contrary to the misconception that seeing flowing water from your living room means auspiciousness and prosperity, do note that this is not always the case. The home orientation and the river flow direction matter. As such, Stack 501, 503, 511, 513, 515, 517, 519, 521, 535, 537, 549, 551, 553, 555, 569, 571 should seek advice from a professional fengshui practitioner to ascertain if your unit has ideal fengshui.
With nine blocks within Costa Grove, residents must also be more mindful of potential Sha (conflict points). High-rise buildings in proximity present a potential risk of conflicts such as Tian Zhan Sha (home’s frontage facing an opening between two or more building structures that funnel negative energies), corner Sha (角煞) where sharp corners present hidden threats or oppression, etc.
Last but not least, do take note of surrounding sites that are undergoing construction. There could be conflict points, as well as pollution and negative energies (Sha Qi) during the development period. E.g. Costa Grove sits next to Costa Riviera I & II, which are currently still undergoing development. If in doubt, it is best to consult a fengshui master.
Internal fengshui considerations
Homeowners should bear in mind the main orientation of your house, as it will directly influence the overall luck of your household member(s). The house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.
Tip: Did you know a physical Luopan (fengshui compass) is much more sensitive to the Qi, energy of the house than a digital compass? You can use our Free Way Almanac App to know your rough direction of your house. It is still advisable to get a professional fengshui Master to fix your home direction.

Costa Grove comprises nine residential blocks ranging from 9 to 18 storeys in height. There are 1,070 units in total, across the categories of 2-room Flexi, 3-, 4-, and 5-room flats. There is an additional residential block of rental flats, making a total of 10 residential blocks in this project.
Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in Period 9 and Period 1 (years 2024 – 2063), followed by Northwest and Southeast. We have categorised the units at Costa Grove under the Period 9 Auspicious Home Ranking chart, as listed below.

Several stacks face favourable directions in Period 9. However, the majority lie on the boundary between two directions indicated with the warning sign. If your unit falls into this category, it is best to consult a professional fengshui consultation for guidance.

Did you know?
Having a bedroom door facing the toilet door is a common fengshui taboo. It is worse if your toilet door faces your bed directly. As the toilet is a place with moisture and stinky smell, the negative energy that flows directly into the bedroom due to inappropriate door positions can cause illness on bones and muscles. Over time, it may lead to a more serious illness as well as wealth loss.
Like many new BTO projects, the 3-, 4-, and 5-room flats at Costa Grove feature a toilet door facing a bedroom door directly. Homeowners may want to consider slight modifications to the layout or to seek advice from a professional fengshui practitioner for fengshui remedies.
The position of your toilet and where it faces is very important. It should not be directly facing your main door, kitchen door, or the bedroom door (as mentioned earlier). If in doubt, don’t hesitate to seek advice from a professional fengshui practitioner.
