Procedure for Setting Altar 安神之程序  

  1. Before the specified date to set the altar, bring the deities from your old house or temple to your new house. Regardless of whether the deities are new or old, they must be wrapped in red paper. At the main entrance of the new house, the owner or another family member whose animal zodiac is not in conflict must carry the deities and walk backwards 3 steps to enter the house. Once inside the house, you may turn round. Place the deities on the altar table but do not remove the red paper.​ 在指定的安神吉日前，从神庙或旧家把神像请到新家来，但无论神像是新的还是旧的，都必须包上红纸。到了新家大门口，由主人或家中成员生肖无冲犯者捧着神像倒退入三步屋内。进入家门后，即可转身。可把神像摆放在神桌上，但红纸不宜拆开。​

  1. On the specified date to set the altar but before the specified time, remove the red paper. Next, arrange the urn, lamps, candles and prayer items.​ 灯烛及祭神供品在安神吉日当天的指定时间前把红纸拆开，接着排列好香炉。​

  1. At the specified time selected by Master, light the joss sticks. The procedure for praying is to pray to the Heavenly God first followed by the deities, Earth God, Kitchen God and lastly the ancestors.​ 在师父所指定的拜神时间烧香。拜神的顺序是：先拜天神、神明 、土地神，再拜灶君及祖先。​

  1. Immediately after saying your prayers, make your wishes. For details, please refer to the “Procedure for Making Wishes”.​ 拜神完毕，随即许愿。细节请参阅 “ 许愿仪式 ”。​

Note 注: ​

If a professional performs the altar setting ceremony, the procedure may follow those as indicated by him. However, the owner must pray with joss sticks again at the time specified by Grand Master Tan and wishes must be made.​

若您是请专人代为安神，仪式可由专人指定，但是主人必须在陈大师所指定的时间再烧香拜神，并许愿。​

 

Procedure for Setting Ancestor 安祖先之程序

  1. Before the specified date to set the ancestor tablet, bring the tablet from your old house or temple to your new house. Regardless of whether the tablet is new or old, it must be wrapped in red paper. At the main entrance of the new house, the owner or another family member whose animal zodiac is not in conflict must carry the tablet and walk backwards 3 steps to enter the house. Once inside the house, you may turn round. Place the tablet on the ancestor table but do not remove the red paper.​ 在指定的安祖先吉日前，从神庙或旧家把祖先牌请到新家来，但无论祖先牌是新的还是旧的，都必须包上红纸。到了新家大门口，由主人或家中成员生肖无冲犯者捧着祖先牌倒退入三步进屋内。进入家门后，即可转身。可把祖先牌摆放在祖先桌上，但红纸不宜拆开。​
