Landform Fengshui: Senja Valley in District 23

In Singapore, the Five Dragon Landform Fengshui harnesses “hidden dragons”, which are man-made structures that channel energy flows. From the lens of fengshui, roads act as “dragon veins,” skyscrapers as “mountain dragons” offering stability, and waterways serve as wealth-attracting “water dragons.”

The five auspicious dragons, namely Eastern, Western, Southern, Northern, and Central, along with the Singapore and Kallang Rivers, converge to drive the city’s growth and prosperity, with each dragon influencing a region’s success.

Fengshui Formation: Senja Valley in District 23

Located along Senja road in Bukit Panjang district, Senja Valley is in District 23 of Singapore. From a fengshui perspective, it resides near the tail of the Central Dragon, aka the Affluence Dragon.

The dragon’s tail represents stability and gradual growth (rather than explosive success like the dragon’s head). Hence, residents here must be patient and adaptable in order to thrive over time.

In Bukit Panjang, the presence of a well-skilled general gives rise to the fengshui land formation of “General’s Desk”. The area near the hill is designated as the desk while the hill represents the general’s flag. Further down near Bukit Panjang Road stands blocks of flats that strategically formed a fort. With its pleasant climate and environment, this precinct is an ideal place for nurturing the next generation.

Under the influence of the righteous general, most residents are honest and down-to-earth. Nevertheless, it is advisable to take note of one’s temper and avoid being too stubborn.

Exterior fengshui considerations

As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a resale flat.

Designed with lush landscaping and communal spaces, Senja Valley boasts a tranquil, garden-like environment, which aligns well with fengshui principles that favour harmony with nature and a balanced flow of qi.

In terms of accessibility and amenities, Senja Valley is conveniently near to Jelapang LRT,  major roads and highways, Senja hawker centre and several schools. This vibrant residential area also means higher human traffic and greater environmental noises [声煞].

In addition, its proximity to the Kranji Expressway (KJE), residents, especially those in units on mid to higher floors are likely to encounter constant vehicle movements that indicate Sound Sha [声煞] and Light Sha [光煞]. Affected residents should consider installing sound-proof windows, curtains or blinds for a more conducive space, if you have yet to do so.

Besides comprising five blocks within its estate, Senja Valley is surrounded by existing and new residential blocks. High-rise buildings in proximity can present conflicts such as Tian Zhan Sha (home’s frontage facing an opening between two or more building structures that funnel negative energies), corner Sha (角煞) where sharp corners present hidden threats, etc. If you encounter such scenarios, don’t hesitate to consult a professional  fengshui  master for appropriate fengshui measures.

At the north of the estate is a site reserved for a Chinese temple, with stack 241, 243 being the nearest/overlooking the future place of worship. From a fengshui perspective, places of worship are where devotees gather and pray, hence it may congregate a strong force of energy that may cause a qi imbalance to its surroundings. However, concluding the qi condition based on the temple alone is not an inclusive move.

To evaluate the auspiciousness of an area, you need to consider factors like the house facing, distance from the temple, luck cycle of the residents etc. Moreover, with so many people staying together within the blocks, the yang energy gathered is strong enough to ward off the yin energy from the place of worship.

Last but not least, lower floor units of stacks 257, 259, 261 that are located near or directly facing the multi-storey car park (MSCP) are likely to encounter Sound Sha [声煞] and Light Sha [光煞]. This could cause disturbances to daily life such as insomnia.  Residents staying in these stacks should take measures to reduce the disturbance. If in doubt, consult a  fengshui  master.

Internal fengshui considerations

Homeowners should bear in mind the main orientation of your house, as it will directly influence the overall luck of your household member(s). The house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.

Tip: Did you know a physical Luopan (fengshui compass) is much more sensitive to the Qi, energy of the house than a digital compass? You can use our Free Way Almanac App to know your rough direction of your house. It is still advisable to get a professional fengshui  Master to fix your home direction.

Senja Valley comprises 789 units of 2-room Flexi, 3-, 4-, and 5-room flats housed in 4 residential blocks. There is also a block with 202 public rental flats, bringing the total to 5 residential blocks in this project.

Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in Period 9 and Period 1 (years 2024 – 2063), followed by Northwest and Southeast. We have identified the Period 9 Auspicious Homes below. Do you live in any of these units?

Several stacks at Senja Valley face auspicious directions in terms of home fengshui in the current Period 9. However, some stacks lie on the boundary between two directions, which are indicated with warning signs. If your unit falls into this category, it is best to consult a professional  fengshui  consultation for guidance.

Did you know?

Period 9, which corresponds with the South, represents a strong Fire element. Hence, it is crucial to locate important spaces within your premises. For example, it is best to make adjustments if your stove (also of fire element) is facing South, otherwise too much fire energy can cause instability and burnout for members in the household.

Also, you may have come across an ancient Chinese saying, “火烧天门不利主”. This translates literally as “Fire Burning Heaven’s Gate”, a home configuration that is believed to be detrimental to the homeowner in terms of fengshui. This occurs if your kitchen is located in the Northwest sector at home.

In fengshui, the Northwest sector (Qian) represents the Heaven, father or husband of a household. It is also associated with the Metal element. As such, this sector can influence the luck and position of the male homeowner, depending on what the space is used for. Having a kitchen and the stove in the Northwest sector indicates clashes between the Metal and Fire elements, which may in turn affect wealth and health.

In the case of Senja Valley, some units have their kitchen in the Northwest sector. While this may raise concerns, one should not generalise the adverse effects of the “Fire Burning Heaven’s Gate” formation.

Further analysis, including Bazi compatibility of the homeowner(s), flying stars, etc. is required prior to concluding if having your kitchen in the Northwest sector of your home will indeed affect your household negatively. If in doubt, always consult a professional  fengshui  master for further analysis and appropriate fengshui measures.

Thrive in Period 9 with good home fengshui

As with most things in life, getting it right from the start will save you lots of effort. More than just the correct placement of furniture or avoiding certain colours, home fengshui looks into compatibility amongst the homeowners and your living spaces.

In terms of fengshui, Senja Valley sits on a favourable fengshui land with several units potentially facing the most auspicious directions of Period 9. However, as some stacks lie on the boundary between two directions and at a less auspicious direction, a detailed on-site fengshui consultation would be necessary to gain a complete understanding of the unique fengshui footprint of your home and how you can optimise it to your advantage.
