Besides reviewing the location and price of a potential home, residential fengshui is just as important. Launched in the latest HDB’s February 2024 Build-To-Order (BTO) exercise, Bedok South Bloom is one of the two new housing projects offered in the mature estate of Bedok.
Let’s take an in-depth home fengshui review on this new BTO development to assess its fengshui qualities beyond its convenient location. Read on!
Bedok South Bloom: Landform fengshui

Located along New Upper Changi Road and near The Marketplace @ 58, Bedok South Bloom sits on the Eastern Dragon, and is part of the favourable fengshui land formation known as “Golden Coins Falling to the Ground”, shaped by Bedok Reservoir – the symbolic source of wealth. This means that residents in Bedok are blessed with opportunities of windfall.
However, this formation is also accompanied with two tricky stars – namely the Tao Hua Romance and White Tiger stars – which underlie potential wealth loss. As such, one is advised to go by the book and stay down-to-earth.
Setting up a wealth basin at home under the care of the female owner (wife) shall help in retaining wealth. For greater home fengshui benefits, homeowners may consider displaying money plants at home to maintain the good flow of qi.
Internal fengshui considerations

When it comes to choosing an ideal unit, keep in mind that the main orientation of a house will directly influence the overall luck of its residents. The house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can typically be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.
Bedok South Bloom comprises 2 residential blocks of 2-room Flexi and 4-room flats, at 25 storeys each. In total, there are 528 units for aspiring BTO homeowners. In the estate, there will also be a 6-storey Multi-Storey Car Park (MSCP) block that includes a preschool at the ground floor.
Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in the upcoming Period 9 and 1 (years 2024 – 2063), and Northwest and Southeast are the second most auspicious directions. It is recommended to choose a unit that faces either of these directions or lies at the border of these directions to tap on the positive energies.
We have categorised the units at Bedok South Bloom under the Period 9 Auspicious Home Ranking chart, as listed below.

Note that there is no fixed lucky direction that caters to everyone. If in doubt, you may like to leave it to the professionals. Way Fengshui provides end-to-end fengshui services from selecting an ideal unit to helping you create a harmonious environment in your new home.
This is especially if your unit faces the less favourable directions such as East or West. Getting a reliable fengshui consultation can help you to clear doubts and ensure that your household thrive in the coming Period 9.
External fengshui considerations
As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a new home.
Bedok South Bloom is conveniently located to various amenities including The Marketplace @ 58, a neighbourhood centre that provides residents with the conveniences of a wet market, food outlets, and shops.
Nearby, there are schools like Bedok Green Primary School, Fengshan Primary School, Anglican High School, Bedok View Secondary School, and Temasek Junior College – making this BTO development well-suited for families with school-age children.
In fact, Bedok South Bloom is located next to Bedok Green Primary School. While this spells convenience for some, it also implies that residents are likely to be affected by heavier traffic and noises during active school hours. As such, do consider carefully when selecting a flat. Sound insulation could be an option to reduce noise disturbances from the external environment.
For those choosing their ideal fengshui home, take note of stack 1000 and 1034 that are in close proximity to the centralised refuse chute. This is because your home may be affected by the rubbish stench when the wind blows, especially if rubbish is not disposed of properly. If you are selecting a unit in one of these stacks, check that your front door does not face the refuse chute directly. If required, you may want to consult a professional fengshui practitioner for remedies to such a situation.
Also, there is a 7-storey Multi-Storey Car Park (MSCP) within Bedok South Bloom. Some units (stack 1040 and 1042) would inevitably be facing the MSCP directly, especially if your unit is on the lower storey (below 7 floor). This implies fengshui conflicting forces (煞气) such as noise pollution (噪音) and headlight flashes from moving cars. This could cause disturbances to daily life such as insomnia. To counter this, homeowners can consider installing a window blind.
As this BTO estate development area is pretty well-contained, there could be conflicting forces from neighbouring blocks with potential some units likely to encounter the Sharp Edge Sha (尖角煞). This typically occurs when the door or window of your unit faces the corner of a nearby building. Such negative energies can result in increased anxiety and inability to concentrate, which may affect career and academic development. If in doubt, it is best to consult a professional fengshui practitioner.
Did you know?
Most, if not all of us, should probably have no doubt when it comes to understanding the destructive relationship between fire and water. In the world of fengshui, this is no exception.
As such, having a stove directly facing your water basin in the kitchen is considered detrimental to the fengshui of the household. This could adversely affect the health of your family, with the negative effects being the most prominent on the female owner.

This undesirable situation could be remedied during the renovation of your home, by relocating either the stove or the water basin. Should this be impractical, you could consider keeping a potted plant right beside the water basin. This will allow creative relationships between water, wood, and fire to be formed.
Homeowners should also be mindful that Period 9, which corresponds with the South, represents a strong Fire element. Therefore, locating important spaces within your premises is crucial. For example, it is best to make adjustments if your stove (also of fire element) is facing South, otherwise too much fire energy can cause instability and burnout for members in the household.
In fengshui, the stove represents “the female owner of the house”. As such, the state of the stove in your house represents the condition of your mother or wife. If your stove happens to face South, you are also highly recommended to consult a professional fengshui master for appropriate fengshui measures.
Which fengshui BTO units to choose in Bedok South Bloom?
As with most things in life, getting it right from the start will save you lots of effort. More than just the correct placement of furniture or avoiding certain colours, home fengshui looks into compatibility amongst the homeowners and your living spaces.
While Bedok South Bloom is well-located within the mature town of Bedok, and features several units that face the favourable directions of Period 9, several stacks are facing less favourable directions. More in-depth fengshui analysis will be required to enhance the home fengshui for specific flats.
Besides selecting a unit that is auspicious in the reigning luck cycle, aspiring BTO homeowners should also bear in mind to select a unit that is in a direction that suits your bazi. Residing in an ideal fengshui unit can help you to create a harmonious home, improve mood and energy, and attract opportunities and benefactors.
