Landform fengshui: Kovan Wellspring in District 19 (D19)

In Singapore, the Five Dragon Landform Fengshui harnesses “hidden dragons”, which are man-made structures that channel energy flow. From the lens of fengshui, roads act as “dragon veins”, skyscrapers as “mountain dragons” offering stability and waterways serve as wealth-attracting “water dragons”.
The five auspicious dragons, namely Eastern, Western, Southern, Northern and Central, along with the Singapore and Kallang Rivers, converge to drive the city’s growth and prosperity, with each dragon influencing a region’s success.
Located between Upper Serangoon Road and Tampines Road, Kovan Wellspring sits near the tail of the Eastern Dragon, a fengshui location known for its dynamic, shifting energies. The Dragon’s Tail symbolises movement, transformation and the need for resilience in the face of change.
While this area carries a more unpredictable flow of qi, it also offers opportunities for those with courage, adaptability and an unwavering heart. Residents who can embrace flexibility and maintain inner strength are well-placed to ride the waves of change and turn challenges into breakthroughs.
Landform fengshui: Kovan Wellspring

Being a part of the “Paired Lotus Land” that favours family and females, Kovan Wellspring is ideal for young families, especially those with daughters. In fact, the Paired Lotus Land tends to produce strong-minded yet traditional women, with the potential of making it big. Nonetheless, women staying here must tap on their knowledge wisely to ensure a holistic development.
Did you know that paired lotus represents good luck and happiness? Coupled with lotus leaves, lotus roots and water caltrops, Hougang’s Paired Lotus Land is also a spiritual place where goddesses reign supreme.
Exterior fengshui considerations
As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a resale flat.

Set in a location where a multitude of activities and exchanges takes place, Kovan Wellspring takes its name from the well Tua Jia Kar (“foot of the big well”), which once supplied clean water to the kampong residents of the area. The original well was located near Blk 205 Hougang St 21, just a stone’s throw from this new BTO development.
Integrated with a new Paya Lebar Kovan Community Club, Kovan Wellspring sits next to Heartland Mall, Kovan 209 Market and Food Centre, and Kovan MRT station. The estate comes with its own residents’ network centre and a childcare centre, spelling convenience and easy accessibility for residents.
Although Kovan Wellspring is in a non-mature estate, its prime location implies a more crowded housing environment with greater human traffic and noises. This is ideal for those who prefer a more vibrant environment, but residents must be mindful of potential Sha (conflict points).
Residents whose units overlook Tampines Road should also take note, as it is a busy arterial road leading directly to the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE). This means fast-moving traffic energy along the northern flank of Kovan Wellspring. In fengshui terms, this generates Sha Qi, particularly for Block 216A, which sits closest to Tampines Road. Affected residents may wish to take note and consider appropriate fengshui measures.
While Kovan Wellspring comprises only four residential blocks, it is integrated with the community club and surrounded by existing low-rise residential and commercial buildings. Lower floor units should be mindful of potential fengshui conflicts such as Tian Zhan Sha (home’s frontage facing an opening between two or more building structures that funnel negative energies) or corner Sha (角煞) where sharp corners present hidden threats, etc. If you encounter such scenarios, it is best to seek advice from a professional fengshui practitioner.
Last but not least, units located near the lifts (stack 104, 106, 124, 130, 138, 140, 162) are likely to encounter unstable magnetic fields at home, which could lead to household disharmony and health issues. Thankfully, there are fengshui remedies for such situations.
Internal fengshui considerations
Homeowners should bear in mind the main orientation of your house, as it will directly influence the overall luck of your household member(s). The house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.

Did you know?
Money is not everything, but without it, you can hardly do anything. For those who are focused on building your wealth, you may want to be more mindful of your wealth position, as well as the shoe shelf, in your home.
The wealth position refers to a place where wealth accumulates. Hence, the space surrounding your wealth position must be kept clean and tidy. There should not be clutter, electrical appliances or sharp objects around or at your wealth position.
There is heavy Sha (煞气) aka negative energies where the shoe shelf is located. Hence, your wealth luck will be affected if your shoe shelf directly faces your wealth position. Some people unknowingly positioned their shoe shelf at their wealth position. When this happens, their wealth is likely to disperse and one may find that it is difficult to accumulate wealth. Should this happen, it is best to shift the shoe shelf or avoid placing shoes within the rack.
For the uninitiated, the fengshui Period 9 is influenced by a wealth star, indicating growing fortune and propitiousness. However, the Fire element influencing this current period can be unstable. If you are planning to conduct home renovation to tap on the benefitting energies of Period 9, do get in touch for a fengshui consultation.
