Launched in HDB’s October 2024 Build-To-Order (BTO) exercise, Fernvale Oasis is one of the BTO projects with a shorter waiting time of less than 3 years. As its name suggests, this new housing project is designed to incorporate lush greenery with thoughtfully designed recreational spaces.

Fernvale Oasiss: Landform fengshui
Located between Fernvale Road and Fernvale Street, Fernvale Oasis sits on the Eastern Dragon in Sengkang, which is defined as a “Frog Land” from the fengshui perspective. Residents of the frog land though exceptionally shrewd, can be rather slack. Besides being easy going and generous, they are also persistent in subjects of their interest.

Fernvale Oasis comprises five 24-storey residential blocks, with 851 units of 2-room Flexi, 4-, and 5-room flats. Two of the blocks will include 23 rental flats each.
Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in Period 9 and 1 (years 2024 – 2063), and Northwest and Southeast are the second most auspicious directions. It is recommended to choose a unit that faces either of these directions or lies at the border of these directions to tap on the positive energies.

Designed with lush greenery and recreational spaces, Fernvale Oasis located near Seletar Mall can easily access dining and shopping options, Sengkang Riverside Park and the Punggol Park Connector, promising conducive living for its residents. There are also several schools for school-age families, making this new BTO project very family-friendly.
While there seems to be sufficient buffer between the residential areas and nearby Tampines Expressway (TPE), stacks 100, 102 and 112 have their living room and bedroom units facing the expressway. Units on mid to higher floors may be subjected to constant vehicle movements that indicate Sound Sha [声煞] and Light Sha [光煞]. These could cause disturbances to daily life such as insomnia. Homeowners may consider installing sound-proof windows or curtains and blinds for a more conducive space.
Those who are planning to choose from the stacks along Fernvale Street should also bear in mind, as the units here are facing the LRT line directly. While LRT are relatively quiet, it could still be disturbing, depending on the distance from one’s unit. For those who prefer greater privacy and peace, it is best to choose an inner stack.
Some people may also have concerns about staying near places of worship. From a fengshui perspective, places of worship are where devotees gather and pray, hence it will congregate a strong force of energy that may cause a qi imbalance to its surroundings. In the case of Fernvale Oasis, there will be a Chinese temple next to the BTO project.
However, concluding the qi condition based on the temple alone is not an inclusive move. To evaluate the auspiciousness of an area, you need to consider factors like the house facing, distance from the temple, luck cycle of the residents etc. Moreover, with so many people staying together within the blocks, the yang energy gathered is strong enough to ward off the yin energy from the place of worship. If in doubt, you may like to consult a fengshui master.
Last but not least, at this time of writing, the site plan shows Fernvale Oasis surrounded by sites reserved for future high-rise residential developments. This indicates potential conflict points, as well as pollution and negative energies (Sha Qi) during the construction period.
High-rise buildings in proximity can also present conflicts such as Tian Zhan Sha (home’s frontage facing an opening between two or more building structures that funnel negative energies), corner Sha (角煞) where sharp corners present hidden threats, etc. If you encounter such scenarios, you may display a pair of guardian lions or Six Emperor Coins emblem to ward off the negative energies. Building a stove on the kitchen island is not recommended, as it is exposed to qi (energy) from every angle. From a practical perspective, such exposure could also affect the food you cook, leading to health issues. The placement of the stove is best against a wall for stability.
Also, be mindful of the sink location in the kitchen. If it is directly across your kitchen stove, you may want to consider renovation or implement some changes such as installing an island in between (if space permits). This is because having a stove directly facing the sink depicts a clash of elements between fire (stove) and water (sink) that could affect the health of your household members.
Homeowners should note that Period 9, which corresponds with the South, represents a strong Fire element. Therefore, locating important spaces within your premises is crucial. For example, it is best to make adjustments if your stove (also of fire element) is facing South, otherwise too much fire energy can cause instability and burnout for members in the household.
