Fengshui Review: The Poiz Residences

Poiz residences

Located at the city fringe along Meyappar Chettiar Road, the Poiz Residences is the latest development in the Potong Pasir neighbourhood. Its convenient location, mixed-use elements and link to the MRT station are key factors to its popularity with local residents and investors. This large mixed-use development certainly seems appealing at first glance, but what of the inherent fengshui influences? Read on for an insightful fengshui review by Master Goh Guan Leong , our experienced fengshui practitioner, to assess if the fengshui of Poiz Residences is equally favourable!

Overview of Landform Fengshui

The strategically located Poiz Residences lies on the Eastern Dragon that is representative of growth. Within this propitious landform of “Transporting Cart of Gold and Jade” is a spotted deer, which denotes speciality in medicine. It would be beneficial for businessmen, or those who are into academic research or religious activities to reside in this area.

Based on ”The secrets of the five dragons: Feng Shui and Singapore’s success ” by Grand Master Tan Khoon Yong, residents staying here should also conduct a home renovation at least once every 10 years, in order to maintain stable wealth luck.

Best units for long-term stay and investment

The Poiz Residences comprises 77 retail units and 7 restaurants in addition to its 731 residential units set in eight 18 storey towers. For investment, one may consider the units that face either Southeast or Northwest in Block 4 and 8.

However, do take note that the auspicious directions in the upcoming Period 9  (year 2024 – 2043) and Period 1 (year 2044 – 2063) are North and South. If you are planning for a long-term stay at the Poiz, Master Goh advises you to consider a unit in Block 2 or 10 that faces North or South.

Internal fengshui considerations

Look within your home as the magnetic field [磁场] of some units are unstable. This could affect the health of household members over time. A petrified wood emblem is recommended to remedy the situation.

Based on the layout plan, some units have the problem of door facing door. If doors are facing each other, there will be direct conflicting energy, which is unfavourable for both households. In such a situation, Master Goh recommends homeowners to place a round light in between the two doors, or to hang a Liuli pendant at the top of your door frame.

Exterior fengshui considerations

Located on top of the Poiz centre (a 3-storey retail mall), the Poiz Residences enjoys clear view with no other tall buildings in its surroundings. Residents who worry about conflicting energies from nearby tall structures need not be bothered by this.

On the other hand, those who are in Block 2 to Block 8 should be mindful of noise pollution (sound sha) as the units are located above the MRT station and along Upper Serangoon Road. To reduce noise disturbances at home, you may consider installing sound-proof windows or curtains and blinds.

Is it bad fengshui to stay near a place of worship? Those who are staying at Block 12, which is relatively near to the Sri Sivadurga Temple, may be wondering about this. Master Goh reassures that there is no cause for worries.
