Fengshui Review: D’Leedon
Did you know that feng shui follows a cycle and changes every 20 years? We are currently in Period 8 (year 2004 – 2023) and the approaching Period 9 will start in 2024 and last till 2043. Even though Period 9 has not arrived yet, its corresponding auspicious directions (North & South) are prospering now.
Situated in the southern part of Singapore, the Marina Bay area is developing at a fast pace now and plays a vital role in the local economy. d’Leedon, the newly completed condominium, also sits in the southern part and it lies on the Western Dragon of Singapore.
d’Leedon is located at Farrer Road in District 10, near the high-end residential estate of Holland Road and the shopping paradise in Orchard Road. It consists of 7 towers that grow from the private gardens within the landscape. Each unit resembles a flower petal and all of them pile up to form one huge tower. This unique architectural design portrays a magnificent scene.
In the study of feng shui, the “Land of Seven Falling Stars” is deemed rare and auspicious, especially favourable for business development and the nurturing of talents. There is one such formation near d’Leedon and that is in Orchard Road. Perhaps the design concept (7 towers) of d’Leedon is an effort to create a feng shui formation similar to that of Orchard Road, hoping to garner the positive influences of the “Seven Falling Stars”. But, this is just a guess.
The South belongs to the Fire element. Together with the Wood element represented by the “7 tall trees” of d’Leedon, a constructive interaction is formed, making the area favourable for producing talents.
Earlier this month, I went to d’Leedon for feng shui assessments for two consecutive days. A lot of effort has indeed been put into the designing of d’Leedon. In every unit, one can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the surroundings. And in some units, residents can even admire the lush greenery of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and Botanic Gardens, adding an air of tranquility to their dwellings.
I assessed a total of two units at block 3 and 7. The one at block 3 is Southwest-facing (Wei bearing), which is one of the auspicious directions in Period 8. The unit at block 7 is South-facing (Wu bearing), one of the auspicious directions in Period 9. The feng shui of both units are favourable, but the one at block 7 is superior.
The design of d’Leedon differs very much from the usual practise. Units in the same block can face different directions, depending on their level and the type of layout. With block 3 as an example, there are some units that face the South (Bing bearing 157.5°- 172.5° & Wu bearing 172.5°- 187.5°) and some that face the Southwest (Wei bearing 202.5°- 217.5°).
Do note that the feng shui of the units will differ according to their facing directions. Hence, potential house buyers should select with caution.
Majority of the units at d’Leedon face the Southeast, Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, North and South, which are all favourable directions. With a little more feng shui adjustments, they shall be able to garner positive qi and gain further benefits. However, there are also units with directions that are less than ideal, such as block 9, 11 and 13. If you are planning to get a unit in these blocks, do pay more attention.
