Fengshui Review: MOP Resale Flats at Boon Lay View

Source: HDB

Regardless of your reason(s) to purchase a resale unit, choosing one that has just fulfilled its Minimum Occupancy Period (MOP) means that you’ll enjoy a longer lease. For those looking to rent, you’d enjoy a newer home minus the common problems that come with old flats.

Boon Lay View, a relatively new estate in the mature neighbourhood of Boon Lay, is now available for purchase/rental. If you are looking for a more permanent residence in the Western part of Singapore, read on for our fengshui review of this freshly MOP-ed estate with its own landscape garden.

Landform fengshui

Bounded by Jurong West Avenue 2, Corporation Road and Boon Lay Avenue, Boon Lay View sits on the Western Dragon in Boon Lay. This area reflects the fengshui land formation of “Mudskipper Crossing the River”. Topographically, it is a valley land that was once a swamp, thereby affirming a water source.

As water symbolises prosperity, this makes Boon Lay a good place for conducting business. However, as the active mudskipper seldom stays long in one area, many businessmen tend to shift premises for new opportunities after acquiring success.

Sandwiched between Jurong East and Jurong West, Boon Lay is represented as a “third party”. This scenario calls for caution from the residents, who must exercise caution in their relationships and avoid becoming the third party themselves. Otherwise, relationship entanglements shall ensue.

Internal fengshui considerations

Directions play an important role in internal fengshui considerations. Choosing a unit that faces auspicious directions can allow you and your household members to tap on the positive energies.

Boon Lay View comprises eight 15-storey residential blocks and offers 810 units of 3-, 4-, 5-room and 3Gen Standard Flats surrounding a lovely landscaped garden. Most of the units face Southeast and Northwest with the exception of units 289 and 291, which are facing North.

For your information, North and South are the most auspicious directions in the upcoming Period 9 and Period 1 (2024 – 2063), followed by Northwest and Southeast. Looking at directions alone, Boon Lay View looks promising as a resale home/rental unit.

Exterior fengshui considerations

Boon Lay View is strategically located in one of the oldest housing neighbourhoods in Singapore. Residents enjoy great amenities and accessibility with a community club and several other housing estates in the vicinity. There are also a number of schools nearby, which makes it highly suitable for young couples or families with children.

In fact, Boon Lay View lies between Jurong Junior College and a site reserved for school. As residents may be affected by noises during active school hours, one should consider carefully when selecting a flat. Sound insulation could be an option to reduce noise disturbances from the external environment.

Extra caution on the road is also recommended, especially when one is near to the school(s), during the peak hours around the start and end of school hours. There is likely to be traffic congestion, which means noise pollution.

Regarding the site reserved for a school, residents should pay attention to avoid or take measures to counter construction noises and conflicting energies (冲煞) during the development period.

Similarly, the site reserved for industrial development indicates noise pollution during the day, and residents located across the site should pay attention to avoid any negative energies or direct conflicts. If in doubt, always seek advice from a professional fengshui practitioner

Did you know?

Money is not everything, but without it, you can hardly do anything. For those who are focused on building your wealth, you may want to be more mindful of your wealth position, as well as the shoe shelf, in your home.

The wealth position refers to a place where wealth accumulates. Hence, the space surrounding your wealth position must be kept clean and tidy. There should not be clutter, electrical appliances or sharp objects around or at your wealth position.

There is heavy Sha (煞气) aka negative energies where the shoe shelf is located. Hence, your wealth luck will be affected if your shoe shelf directly faces your wealth position.

Some people unknowingly positioned their shoe shelf at their wealth position. When this happens, their wealth is likely to disperse and one may find that it is difficult to accumulate wealth. Should this happen, it is best to shift the shoe shelf or avoid placing shoes within the rack.
