Landform fengshui: Kebun Bahru Edge in District 20

In Singapore, the Five Dragon Landform Fengshui harnesses “hidden dragons”, which are man-made structures that channel energy flows. From the lens of fengshui, roads act as “dragon veins,” skyscrapers as “mountain dragons” offering stability, and waterways serve as wealth-attracting “water dragons.”

The five auspicious dragons, namely Eastern, Western, Southern, Northern, and Central, along with the Singapore and Kallang Rivers, converge to drive the city’s growth and prosperity, with each dragon influencing a region’s success.

Kebun Bahru Edge is gracefully positioned along the Southern Dragon’s Body, a fengshui location symbolising stability, nurturing energy, and the steady flow of fortune. The Dragon’s Body represents the heart of the dragon vein, where qi gathers and moves with balanced strength. This auspicious placement requires the blessings of good fortune and a stable foundation to fully unlock its potential, making it ideal for those seeking long-term prosperity, personal growth, and family harmony. With its supportive and enduring energy, Kebun Bahru Edge offers residents a serene environment where dreams can be cultivated and success can take root over time.

Fengshui Formation of Kebun Bahru Edge

Located along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 and across the street from Bishan-Ang Mo-Kio Park, Kebun Bahru Edge resides on the Southern Dragon, within the fengshui land formation known as “Five Ghosts Transporting Treasures”.

Such a formation is beneficial to the commercial sector, hence residents who are doing businesses here are likely to succeed. The auspiciousness of Ang Mo Kio is further enhanced by its proximity to the “Elephant Sucking Water” land (Peirce Reservoir).

However, residents may face fluctuating fortunes as the ‘five ghosts’ only formed a semi-circle, indicating wealth leakage. One must learn to be more prudent in managing finances. Generally, the ideal orientation for houses in Ang Mo Kio is the South.

Exterior fengshui considerations

As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a new home.

Surrounded by existing public housing in the mature estate of Ang Mo Kio, Kebun Bahru Edge shows potential to flourish together with its ‘older’ neighbours. Established residential estates contain stronger ground energies than newer ones, so mixing old and new house developments together will allow newer estates to “absorb” the land’s energies at a faster rate.

This newly completed BTO project also offers excellent connectivity with its proximity to the Mayflower MRT station (a 5-minute walk) and is near to several schools such as Ai Tong Primary School, St. Nicholas Girls Primary School, and Mayflower Secondary School.

In fact, the latter lies just across the road with stack 101 and 103 being the nearest to the school. While this spells convenience for school-age families, residents of Kebun Bahru Edge are likely to be affected by heavier traffic and noises during active school hours.

One of the key highlights of Kebun Bahru Edge is its location across Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, which promises amazing unblocked views. In fengshui, unblocked views are favoured as it represents the Red Phoenix, symbolising aspirations and a bright future. Such smooth flow of energy in the absence of points of conflict (sha) is essential.  Hence, stacks overlooking Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park are ideal as they promise unblocked views.

On the other hand, lower floor units (4 storeys and below) near the Multi-Storey Car Park (MSCP) should be mindful of light and noise pollution (i.e. stack 107, 109, 111, 129, 131, 133, 135). While none of these stacks face the MSCP directly, excessive Light Sha and Sound Sha can increase stress and blood pressure levels, possibly leading to insomnia.

Last but not least, there are sites reserved for a future road and high-rise residential developments near Kebun Bahru Edge. Homeowners, do take note of surrounding sites that are undergoing construction, as there could be conflict points, as well as pollution and negative energies (Sha Qi) during the development period. If you encounter any issues, don’t hesitate to consult a professional fengshui practitioner.

Internal fengshui considerations

Homeowners should bear in mind the main orientation of your house, as it will directly influence the overall luck of your household member(s). The house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.

Tip: Did you know a physical Luopan (fengshui compass) is much more sensitive to the Qi, energy of the house than an digital compass? You can use our Free Way Almanac App to know your rough direction of your house. It is still advisable to get a professional fengshui  Master to fix your home direction.

Kebun Bahru Edge comprises two residential blocks with 380 units of 4- and 5-room flats. The blocks come with staggered heights of up to 29 storeys.

Based on fengshui analysis, North and South are the most auspicious directions in the current Period 9 and Period 1 (years 2024 – 2063), followed by Northwest and Southeast. We have categorised the units under the Period 9 Auspicious Home Ranking chart, as listed below.

Several units at Kebun Bahru Edge face the most auspicious directions in the current  fengshui  period. With appropriate fengshui measures, you can optimise your household luck to thrive further!

However, take note that several stacks lie on the boundary between two directions. These are indicated with the ⚠️ sign. If your unit falls into this category, do consider a professional fengshui consultation for guidance.

Also, units located near the lift are likely to encounter unstable magnetic fields at home, which could lead to household disharmony and health issues. Thankfully, there are fengshui remedies for such situations.

As for units with main doors that face each other, be mindful of conflicting energies. If your main door faces your neighbour’s main door directly, you should consult a professional fengshui practitioner  to minimise the negative impacts.

Did you know?

In fengshui, an ideal home layout should be square or rectangular so that it’s free from missing corners and more well-balanced. This will also ensure the smooth flow of qi within the home, as compared to one with an irregularly-shaped layout, which spells well for most HDB dwellers.

Homeowners should also take note of the centre point of your home, aka the Central Palace. This sector represents emotional stability within the household, and should be a passive sector where qi flow is subtle and peaceful, so as to allow household members to enjoy emotional stability. Note that a kitchen, toilet or stove should not be located in the centre of the property.

While there’s a limit to the modifications that one can carry out within a fixed BTO layout, there are fengshui remedies to counter or minimise the negative impacts. A professional fengshui practitioner can pinpoint these areas of concern and provide solutions to ensure you and your household members stay safe and harmonious in your new home.

As for those who are planning to conduct home renovation or move in, don’t forget to choose an auspicious date before you proceed. The information is readily available at the Way Almanac App – free for all to download!
