Landform fengshui: Toh Guan Grove in District 22 (D22)

In Singapore, the Five Dragon Landform Fengshui harnesses “hidden dragons”, which are man-made structures that channel energy flows. From the lens of fengshui, roads act as “dragon veins,” skyscrapers as “mountain dragons” offering stability, and waterways serve as wealth-attracting “water dragons.”
The five auspicious dragons, namely Eastern, Western, Southern, Northern and Central, along with the Singapore and Kallang Rivers, converge to drive the city’s growth and prosperity, with each dragon influencing a region’s success.
Located along Toh Guan Road near to the Jurong Lake District, Toh Guan Grove sits within Singapore’s District 22. This newly completed BTO project is near the body of the Western Dragon, indicating stable qi flow that is ideal for long-term residence or business.

Toh Guan Grove is part of Jurong, which has the fengshui formation known as “Land of the Flower Basket”. As Jurong favours innovative and creative industries, those who are working in creative-related businesses and educational institutions will do well here.
Residents in Jurong are generally equipped with capabilities and growing wealth. Families and singles looking to strive in their career, especially females, have the potential to succeed in this area.
In addition, there’s a fengshui formation featuring a pair of “Golden Boy and Jade Girl”, located respectively at Jurong East and Jurong West. This indicates abundant romance luck and singles can look forward to finding their ideal partners here. However, caution is needed to avoid love entanglements. In particular, married people must practise faithfulness, or one will share the same fate as the golden boy and jade girl who remain separated.
Exterior fengshui considerations
As one’s external environment accounts for more than interior considerations, it is important to consider features of the surrounding space when selecting a resale flat.

Designed and named after the natural forms of mangroves that once populated the area, Toh Guan Grove stands tall amidst existing HDB developments with major malls such as IMM, West Gate and JEM nearby. It is also within walking distance to the upcoming JRL Toh Guan Station, Jurong East Interchange and MRT station, spelling convenience and easy accessibility for residents.
Although this newly completed BTO project is in a non-mature estate, its prime location implies a more crowded housing environment with greater human traffic and noises. This is ideal for those who prefer a more vibrant environment, but residents must be mindful of potential Sha (conflict points).
The tallest blocks at Toh Guan Grove stand at 37 storeys, which is higher than existing HDB blocks around them. It has been noted that the three blocks within the development are rather closed in, facing one another. Hence, keep a lookout for sharp corners of nearby buildings or structures.
High-rise buildings in close proximity may present risks such as Tian Zhan Sha (天崭煞) where a home’s frontage faces an opening between two or more structures that funnel negative energies) or Corner Sha (角煞), where sharp building corners create hidden threats or oppressive energy.
That said, the open spaces and greenery within Toh Guan Grove can help to circulate sheng qi, supporting health and harmony.
Next, homeowners must also take note of ongoing constructions nearby such as the work-in-progress JRL. This implies temporary Sha qi through noise, dust and unsettled energy, requiring you to buffer your homes with greenery, blinds or curtains. If in doubt, don’t hesitate to consult a fengshui master.
Last but not least, stay mindful if your main door is near or faces the rubbish chute, i.e. stacks 287, 289, 297 and 313. Overflowing rubbish or wind-blown stench could affect residents, even with the Pneumatic Waste Conveyance System (PWCS).
Internal fengshui considerations
Homeowners should bear in mind the main orientation of your house, as it will directly influence the overall luck of your household member(s). The house orientation refers to the facing of your house, which can be measured from the main entrance where qi flows in.
Tip: Did you know a physical Luopan (fengshui compass) is much more sensitive to the Qi, energy of the house than a digital compass? You can use our Free Way Almanac App to know your rough direction of your house. It is still advisable to get a professional fengshui Master to fix your home direction.

Did you know?
A headboard represents stability and support in your life, especially your romantic relationships. Hence, a solid and smooth headboard (without perforations) made of natural materials is recommended.
It is also best to leave these electronic devices out of your bedroom or hide them as best you can. If you already want to have a television in your room, you may want to consider placing it in an armoire or cover it neatly with a cloth when not in use.
For optimal fengshui benefits, it is best to align your bed position with your Bazi needs and ensure you have a clear vantage of the doorway (while not being in direct alignment). If in doubt, consider consulting a fengshui practitioner for a fengshui review.
