This “UFO” serves an important purpose, and it’s located…right on top of the Supreme Court building!
There’s no definite proof that Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) exist, let alone knowledge of how big they are. All we know is that these flying disks are supposedly spacecraft belonging to aliens. So would you believe us if we told you that Singapore has its own UFO? It’s true – it’s parked at the Supreme Court of Singapore! Frankly, the Supreme Court building is a strange place to build such a futuristic-looking structure. Aren’t you curious about why the was designed this way? The realm of feng shui also has its own explanation for this eccentricity.
Regardless of your knowledge of feng shui, We’re sure you’ve heard of the phrase “Green Dragon on left, White Tiger on right”. The Green Dragon represents business and finance, while the White Tiger represents power, authority, and the law. In feng shui planning and building placement, it’s ideal to have business-related districts on the left and military or legislative areas on the right. In Singapore’s case, it’s pretty clear that the Supreme Court building is located to the right of Parliament House – in other words, the White Tiger position. Whether this was coincidence or a deliberate move, no one knows. We only know that it’s in line with feng shui principles and can effectively boost the authority and might of the Parliament House.
Furthermore, did you notice that the new and old Supreme Court buildings both sit near Fort Canning Park?In terms of landscape feng shui, Fort Canning Park is a “Tiger land” with an imposing aura, which may negatively affect its surroundings if not kept “under control”. In this sense, only the Supreme Court, with its supreme authority, can play the role of tiger’s keeper.
The Supreme Court building’s design features square and angular forms, reflecting a fairness and righteousness independent of politics. The round UFO-like top section, on the other hand, seems to imply mercy and the ability to see from all perspectives.
For us, looking at it in terms of feng shui, this design is meant to “round out” and dispel the overwhelming negative qi produced by such an imposing building with an important function!
A UFO is, by its very nature, an object of mystery. This is the very impression ordinary citizens have of the Supreme Court, and the building seems to be attempting to change this impression through its feng shui direction. If you’ve been to the Supreme Court building’s only entrance, you’ll know that it faces “Kun Gua”, or Southwest. According to I Ching theory,“Kun” represents the people or the masses; having the entrance face this direction emphasises that “all are equal before the law”.
