Born in Washington D.C., Sheryl Sandberg is an American technology executive of Jewish descent. She is the Chief Operating Officer of Facebook and the first woman to serve on Facebook’s board. Before joining Facebook, Sandberg was Vice President of Global Online Sales and Operations at Google and founder of nonprofit organisation, leanin.org. Before Google, she served as chief of staff for the United States Secretary of the Treasury. In 2012, she was named in Time 100 as one of the top 100 most influential people in the world. In 2015, the passing of her husband, Dave Goldberg, left her devastated.
