2026 FIFA World Cup Final Preview: What the Bazi Charts Say About Spain vs Argentina, Plus the Fight for Bronze

Two matches left, and only one that decides a champion. Spain and Argentina reach Sunday’s final having taken very different routes there, and the charts don’t hand it to either.

Argentina scored twice in the dying minutes to beat England 2-1 in Atlanta, with Messi setting up both goals, and they now join Spain, who beat France 2-0, in the final at MetLife Stadium, kicking off at 3 am Monday (SGT). The day before, at 5 am Sunday (SGT), Bellingham and Kane lead England out one more time against France at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami for third place, a match sharpened by a subplot of its own: Mbappé and Messi are tied atop the Golden Boot race on eight goals apiece, and with Messi’s focus on the final, Sunday’s bronze match maybe Mbappé’s clearest remaining shot at breaking the tie outright.

Bazi analysis: Lamine Yamal

Yamal turned 19 the day before the semifinal against France, and it was his heady, alert run in behind that won the foul for Spain’s opening penalty.

As we’ve written in the previous article, his chart is still the strongest read in this tournament. This lines up with what we wrote in our previous piece: Messi’s chart remains the best supported in the competition, and Thursday’s early hours only added to the case.

He is in the Ren Yin (壬寅) Luck Pillar, carrying Water, his most favourable element, which nourishes his Jia (甲) Wood Day Master exactly when his side needs him most.

His Jie Shen Lucky Star (解神) and Tian Jie Resolution Star (天解) carried by the Dragon (辰) in his chart, mark him as the one who untangles trouble, which is precisely what he did against both Egypt and England this tournament, and the Grand Duke (太岁) and Jiang Xing Authority Star (将星) sitting with his chart this year place real leadership on his shoulders. At nearly 39, in what is almost certainly his last World Cup, he now stands one win away from a second title and a piece of history only Pelé’s Brazil has managed.

Bazi analysis: Julián Álvarez

Álvarez did not get on the scoresheet against England, but he led the line for the full 90 minutes, linking play well and giving England’s back line a constant problem to solve. That fits his chart well.

A Competitive Deity structure (劫财格) paired with a Wu (戊) Earth Day Master gives him independence and a refusal to stop working, even in matches where the spotlight and the scoreline both belong to someone else.

One thing worth watching is that his Day Branch, the Rat (子), clashes with this year’s Grand Duke, the Horse, but the timing works out nicely for him, since this Fire Horse year happens to supply plenty of the Fire that is already his favourite element. Expect him to lead the line again in the final, with another moment like his extra-time strike against Switzerland well within reach.

The Fight for Bronze: England vs France

Neither side wanted to be here, but there is more on the line than pride. Mbappé and Messi are level on eight goals for the Golden Boot, and Messi’s attention is fully on the final, so Sunday’s bronze match is Mbappé’s clearest remaining shot at breaking the tie outright. Kane, level with Bellingham on six goals for England, has his own incentive to finish the tournament strongly.

Bazi analysis: Jude Bellingham

Bellingham went quiet in the semifinal, but his chart still reads strongly. Both his yearly luck and current Luck Pillar remain solid, and although Water is not abundant in his chart, the Metal in this cycle produces it for him, with his Luck Pillar’s Chen (辰), the Dragon, combining with the Rooster (酉) in his Day Branch to generate more Water still.

Bazi analysis: Harry Kane

Kane’s chart has always read as more of a supporting chart than a trophy-lifting one on its own. Still, it consistently points to a sharp, analytical finisher who is ruthless once he sees an opening, and Sunday’s third-place match against France gives him one more clean look at goal.

He is in his Bing Chen (丙辰) Luck Pillar, where Dragon (辰) combines with the Rooster (酉) in his Year Pillar to form Metal, helping produce Water, quietly working in his favour.

His chart is also short on Fire, the other element he needs, and 2026 happens to be a Fire Horse year, in which the Horse combines with the Goat (未) in his Month Pillar to form more Fire. Luck is still doing Kane a real favour, and Sunday gives him one more chance to add to his tally.

The Bazi verdict, heading into the biggest few days of the tournament

Sunday should belong to whoever’s chart is hungrier for goals rather than results, and both Kane and Mbappé fit that on current form. Monday is the real puzzle, and it comes down to the players rather than the badges on their shirts.

Yamal and Oyarzabal both carry charts still building toward their peak moment, Álvarez remains the quiet, relentless constant up front, and Messi arrives with the single most favoured chart of anyone left in the tournament.
